'Ban BNP festival' say firemen

The British National Party "festival" at Denby in Derbyshire should be banned, according to the Fire Brigades Union. The FBU East Midlands executive member, Dave Green, has appealed to Amber Valley Borough Council to reverse its decision to allow a drink and entertainments license for the event.

The 'Red, White and Blue' event is planned for the weekend of August 4 to August 5, on land owned by BNP member and Denby parish councillor Alan Warner. Other Denby residents have protested, and so has the local MP, Judy Mallaber.

Mr Green said today: "The Fire Brigades Union is very concerned about the proposal to hold such an event in Derbyshire. We, along with many others, have tried hard in recent years to promote good relations between people of different races. That work could be undermined by the holding of a festival celebrating racist ideology. I hope Amber Valley Borough Council will think again and consider the impact on the local community."

Amber Valley Council chief executive of the council, Peter Carney said: "This was a finely balanced decision, made following thorough and careful consideration of all the issues involved. The Licensing Panel considered the representations from all interested parties, including the police, local residents and the applicant, to ensure that the application was dealt with in a fair and objective way, in accordance with all appropriate legislation."

The BNP's press officer, Dr Phil Edwards, said that the festival was held as "a celebration of the culture of white Europeans".

He said: "Because the BNP are so disliked we have to be squeaky clean with events like this or the media will come down on us like a ton of bricks."

  1. That's odd. I always thought it was the job of the fire brigade to put out fires and rescue cats from trees - not "promote good relations between people of different races" (whatever that means)

In fact, why stop at the BNP ? Why not stop anyone who comrade Green doesn't like from holding any sort of functions ?

In fact, maybe comrade Green should be granted power of veto over any sort of applications to Amber Valley Borough Council.

Who needs democracy when we've got such wise sages as comrade Green to protect us from making bad choices in life ?

  2. The FBU are perfectly entitled to oppose the proposal on any grounds it wishes as a corporate entity. It would have done better though, in my opinion, to have opposed the licence application on solid planning grounds. I doubt if any more provision has been made for dealing with emergencies during the RWB than there have been criminal checks on the people the BNP have got looking after the children on site. The whole event is a disaster waiting to happen.

Stuart Rusell [Dr Russell's real name] would get pissed at the openinng of a fridge door.

As a white Briton, am I entitled to oppose Mr Russell's (silly)existence on the grounds that he married a Polish woman?

  4. I do hope anonymous...never needs the fire brigade in a hurry, cos he has just tucked himself up like a kipper by his/her attack that attempts to belittle the job that brave men and women do every day as fireman that is to save lives. anonymous makes great use of the word democracy, when anyone with half a brain knows that his/her party do not believe in democracy as the recent election for their leader proves.

Crawl back in your hole anonymous and stay away from matches.

Since when has British culture been about eating greasy burgers made from shit that cost 5p each from the warehouse and selling them on for £1.99 or standing around in a beer tent swigging from cheap cans of beer at £2 a go?

If that is British culture the BNP can fuck off

Be interesting to see if the police turn up with sniffer dogs. They'd uncover some unpleasant suprises.

  8. why has remember stalingrad closed

Could it have something to do with the fact that one of the contributors was traced by investigators to Barking and dagenham along with the lbbd government email addy and then it turns out that the site had actually been under investigation for a few weeks prior to its closing so they shat bricks and closed it.

    Right on, up the revolution

I hear things are going to get worse as well. Like you were told a while back, watch this space and don't do any paid work with declaring it to the DWP ok? LOL

  9. Stalingrad's closed because I'm out the country for a while.

And if the BNP councillors in the town hall (on the few occasions they're there)want to read Stalingrad, good luck to them.

They're the best source of info we have.

  10. 'Like you were told a while back, watch this space and don't do any paid work with declaring it to the DWP [or the taxman] ok?'

Unlike Kevin Watmough, we wouldn't dream of it.

I've no idea, thank God. Perhaps the new Cultural Officer and Public Relations Officer of the BNP?

  12. Pity you don't have a facility on here for uploading images. I'm sure there are some stunners out there :)

Some good shots of Griffins farm and house would be good. Let the members see how the greedy bastard lives and just what they are paying for. I read on another blog that Griffin used to stack shelves in Safeway. Why would someone with qualifications do such a thing? Is it because he's a lazy bastard who was threatened with having his benefits chopped if he didn't get off his arse? The BNP is easy money.

If anyone has any interesting images, we'd certainly welcome them attached to emails. :-)

  15. Mr Fister

You must be an MP if your holiday lasts this long, ha ha. Obviously you are under some sort of pressure from the police. Can't wait to it gets to court.

  16. mi7 said....i keep telling people dont prod the caged animals with sharp sticks, it seems one of them can read.

mr fister is right all members and staff at b & d can access websites, and if you had a diva like dicky for a leader wouldnt you want to see and read if others share your opinion of him.

sometimes looking at sites like this is the only info party members get on whats going on, cos we certainly dont get ballot forms to vote for our leader.

  19. Its the fact that a government email addy was used with a hotmail.com and hotmail.co.uk addy as one of the three administrators and certain posts which as I understand it have been saved despite a too late attempt to wipe the evidence are subject to a criminal investigation. But don't take my word for it, what do I know? I'm just saying.

  20. "they look nothing like the bnp couple that knocked my door in the elections"

But they DO look amazingly like the people who regularly attend the RWB and on the BNP's side at demonstrations.

  21. Actually, I think you'll find it's Sid Williamson's blog that is under investigation for inciting racial violence and making death threats.

Oh, and same for Covert. That is also going to have a private prosecution.

As for Stalingrad, I believe Mr Woods has stopped doing it while the RWB festival is held on his doorstep.

  22. I think you'll find that there is more interest in the lbbd.gov.uk email that strangely dissapeared just before the website shut down than you buck passing (JGW's blog, don't make me laugh).
