Racist admits stabbing friend to death

John Pakulski, convicted of manslaughter

Worksop man John Pakulski has been sentenced to six years in prison after admitting killing his friend at a party organised for members of the racist group Wolf's Hook White Brotherhood.

Pakulski, 55, stabbed Michael Sanderson with a kitchen knife on 26th November last year after he found his partner Catherine Parker-Brown, 37, 'in a state of undress' with friend Sanderson. Pakulski denied the charge of murder but admitted manslaughter due to provocation.

Nottingham Crown Court heard this week that Sanderson had been at Pakulski and Parker-Brown's house on Carlton Road for a party on the night of the attack. Pakulski had gone upstairs and found the bathroom door was locked and realised that Sanderson and Parker-Brown were inside. He battered down the door and found his girlfriend with his friend, naked from the waist down, the prosecution claimed this week.

The court heard that a violent fight ensued between the two men, which left Sanderson lying on the floor. Pakulski then went downstairs to get a kitchen knife. Sanderson followed him and was stabbed by Pakulski. Sanderson managed to leave the scene of the stabbing and crawled to Turner Road, where he was later found.

He was taken to Bassetlaw Hospital, but died from a single stab wound to the chest. The knife penetrated his left lung and an artery.

During the hearing, Parker-Brown also stood before the court charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice. She admitted the charge and will be sentenced next month.

Pakulski, who looked calm dressed in a blue shirt, sat next to Parker-Brown in the dock kissing her and holding her hand. He is expected to serve half of the six-year sentence. Judge Michael Pert added that the 285 days he has already served in prison will be taken into account - which means Pakulski has just over two years left to serve.

After his death, it emerged that Sanderson, 42, of Cotgrave, and Pakulski were members of the racist group Wolf's Hook White Brotherhood, which preaches the 'preservation of white racial purity'. The party held at the Carlton Road address on the night of the killing had been arranged for Wolf's Hook members, who were invited to the address via the racist organisation's website.
