As promised a couple of months back when Searchlight celebrated its 400th edition, we've got a selection of front covers from the past thirty years for you to take a look at. It's been a bugger trying to work out how to do tables on the blog so the pictures would display properly, then someone suggested Picassa, which worked very nicely indeed. So here they are at last. Click on the image and take a look...
I tried to access these images with Opera and it didn't work properly. Worked fine in IE though.
ReplyDeleteAlso works in Firefox.
ReplyDeleteThe covers may have changed, but the message remains the same.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in 2009.
It'd be brilliant if all these magazines could be archived online, so we could access them (the older ones of course). A fascinating insight into the far-right over the past thirty odd years.
ReplyDeleteI just read over on Simon Darby's blog that Richard Barnbrook has just invested £5 in a plump cock.

ReplyDeleteBloody good idea.

Somehow I'm not surprised.
Doesn't work on Opera here either. Using version 9.24. How odd.
ReplyDeleteUsing Opera 9.63 here.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it wasn't 5lb of plump cock?
ReplyDeleteThat's more likely?
It's a shame there's no CD, as there is for Lobster. I once spent the best part of a day trawling through copies from the 1980s in the British Library in pursuit of a story. They're treated as "special materials" - you can only read in a special part of the Rare Books Room close to the librarian desk (also the case with Private Eye). Presumably there's a fear that some people might like to remove certain pages.
