BNP considers festival site move

The British National Party has said next year's Red White and Blue Festival (RWB) could be moved from Derbyshire. The party said it was concerned about the disruption caused to local people and the licensing restrictions imposed by the council.

Last weekend 19 people were arrested during anti-BNP protests near Denby in a policing operation estimated to have cost £500,000.

A BNP spokesman said no decision had been made on any alternative sites. The event faced restrictions on music, alcohol sales and the number of caravans it could host.

Protest vow

The centre of Denby, where most of the protests took place, was heavily policed and some residents needed an escort to leave the town.

Deputy leader of the BNP Simon Darby said: "There is a school of thought that says we have had RWB in Wales, in the Midlands, in the North, in the East Midlands and we have never had it, for instance, in Scotland, the South West or the South. So I think there will be a lot of competition, there are several sites which want us."

Protesters said they would follow the festival no matter where it went and added they hoped councils would carefully consider any application from organisers.

  1. The middle of the river thames would be my choice spot.

But they made the same announcement last year and still ended up in Derby.

The problem is, that it is now getting very costly for the police, and at some time they may start to ask the BNP for a contribution to the costs.

you lot really did it this time. The RWB was destroyed because ordinary white hard working honest families (only the parents working I mean)did,nt go to this fantastic festival because they were afraid of left wing state sponsored loonies with claw hammers attacking anyone who was white. (Well white and not a student protesting is what I mean)

The bouncy castle man was afraid to show up coz you lot would have burst his castle with your labour sponsored darts.

The helicopter rides were cancelled coz you,lot arranged for a drone to monitor the event which could have caused a collision.

We were,nt allowed to sell booze or park caravans yet you lot sing the praises of gypsies who do this kind of thing everyday.

if everyone was,nt so scared we could have had as many as 15,209 members show up.

There is a video on you tube of Nick singing and he summed up perfectly the mood in the camp when he said after his song
"I hope that made up for the lack of fireworks"

Well Nick it certainly did, your singing was fantastic.

I saw the vidoes of you thugs protesting but I did,nt see tulip, irishtony, ketlan, barbara kawasaki, we love jam sandwiches or any of the rest of you mob.

Its amazing that so many of you showed up, you must be scared that we will be running this country in 15 years

  9. It's a week after their RWB and there is NOTHING, absolutely NO mention of it on the website - they have pretended it just never happened (which b all accounts it was so badly supported it may as well have not happened at all). It is just so pathetic and really really funny!

They did a story on it on 18th August. It's still there.

  13. There will be no more RWB's as it has become far too expensive to police, what we will see is regional festivals.

There will be no more RWB's

that is my view too, said so before this one took place, the bnp didnt hype it or advertise it like previous ones. Could of done that to justify its discontinuation, poor attendance not covering cost, plus the protest causes too much havoc for residents and the bnp gets blame. These excuses will be trotted out but the truth is more likely to be Gri££in doesnt need the hassle now hes mep.

Members wont like it, no focal point for them
