First report back from RWB demo

A superb view of the march approaching the RWB
Early reports back from the demonstration at the BNP's Red, White and Blue piss-up suggest that there were in excess of 1500 protestors and a measly seven arrests (three for being outside the designated protest zone, for God's sake).

The other four arrests were made when those at the head of the march of about a thousand demonstrators tried to force their way past a cordon of mounted and standing police to the entrance to the RWB site 150 metres away. Bags of flour, plastic bottles, eggs and fruit were thrown.

What a lovely bunch of neanderthals - the BNP in action
The main body of demonstrators, which was monitored by a helicoptor, CCTV cameras and a camera mounted on a drone, gathered in Codnor's Market Place, chanting "Nazi scum, off our streets" and waving placards. The other arrests took place at the junction of Codnor-Denby Lane and Heanor Road, where smaller groups of protestors clashed with officers.

At the front of the march - and facing the horses
The march came a day after an open letter was published on Unite Against Fascism's website, condemning the BNP event. The letter, whose signatories include former London mayor Ken Livingstone, children's author Michael Rosen and trade union leaders, accused the BNP of trying to "build up a hardened neo-Nazi core at the centre of the organisation".

It said: "We condemn the BNP and its festival of race hate, and we urge people to reject this party's poisonous and anti-democratic agenda."

  3. Wendy Russel the RWB organiser is very depressed only 700 bnp members have turned out to the RWB its the worst record of attendance since the festival began. The RWB has made a masive financial loss Mr Griffin not very happy.

  4. If the BBC says it was 1500 protestors http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/8201022.stm you can bet it was a LOT more than that.

So Darby, Griffin et al if you've an account on here that you quietly use - if there was any doubt in the past about your revolting politics, there certainly isn't now!!!

    At women and little kids?

You're proud of throwing objects at women and kids to harm them?

You morons make it up as you go along, don't you. Nobody threw anything at women or kids and you know it. Now fuck off.

It looks like him. Quite near the skinhead in braces. The BNP isn't much good at casting off the old image is it really.

  18. Looks like a final total of 19 arrests. On the other hand, the demo was three times the size of last years.

  19. Look at this from the UAF site

BNP supporter attacks coach full of protesters

    7.30am news update

A coach full of anti-Nazi protesters travelling from south London to Derbyshire was attacked by a BNP supporter this morning. The attacker threw a large rock at the coach, shattering a window, before running off.

The coach was carrying around 50 protesters to demonstrate at the BNP's "Red, White & Blue" rally today. It had just left Lambeth town hall at 6.30am when the attack took place.

Sarah from South London UAF said: "We are in shock though relieved that nobody has been seriously injured. The rock was slightly larger than a cricket ball and was thrown with enough force to break two panes of glass. If it had hit someone it would have hurt them very badly.

"People are angry that this attack didn't just damage the coach, it was intended to cause harm to people. This attack should make people realise that the BNP is organised and violent. That's why it's so important for people to protest against them in Codnor today – but also to be vigilant against their Nazi thugs."

    Still thugs.

If that's the case, his electors will be interested to see that picture at next May's elections, will they not...

The BNP is claiming that the site is down due to another DDoS attack. I thought they begged loads of money off the members to pay for appropriate protection/backup facilities? Looks like the money didn't get where it was supposed to (again).

  23. 700 of the scum? Yeah right! Anti-fascists held both entrances to the lane from at least 8:30am and I only saw 20-30 Nazi's cars pass the South entrance after that point. And thats only because our lines were broken by the fascists Police protectors.

  27. Well done to Notts Stop the BNP and the other local groups involved who won't get a mention because of UAF involvement.
Stop hijacking events and insisting your banner goes at the front of the march and start listening and doing what the stewards ask, it's not difficult is it?

  29. Well done to Notts Stop The BNP and the other local groups involved. They are going to get overshadowed in the media and other reports and other will take the credit.

  30. I see Lee Bonkers Barnes is telling porkies again

"19 arrests so far today, not 3 as stated on the Lancaster Unity site."

The 19 was cnfirmed hours ago in the comments to this article and no-ome ever said only three people had been arrested. Barnes is a cunt.

  35. Why did no one from the BNP get arrested? They are the violent skinhead thugs!! Are the police stupid?

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Why did no one from the BNP get arrested?"

One report said some BNP members had been arrested. It had no numbers and no details so I didn't see the point in using it.

  37. Not sure they are definitely using a nazi salute but they do look like great examples of the superior aryan race;)

Nothing big ever happens there! Its just another 'clever' ploy so that Prick can add into his speech about needing money to buy more secure hardware (again!)... especially as this years Right Wing Bastard festy is appearing to be a bit of a financial no brainer.

  40. Great protest guys, atmosphere was fuckin amazing. Hopefully we made our mark, which I'm sure we did.

Also whats this about there only being 1500 of us? The media's only talked about the ones in the Codnor Market/Codnor-Denby road junction. Congrats to the other guys that were on the other side that was the fascists one and only route of getting in as well as everyone.
