It's no party for Gamble

A far-right Rotherham councillor has found himself without a party, after being kicked out of three in less than year

John Gamble was elected as a British National Party councillor in Brinsworth and Catcliffe in 2008, but last June the BNP whip was withdrawn after a row with party leaders.

Coun Gamble joined the England First Party, a tiny BNP splinter group, but last month defected to the white-supremacist National Front - briefly becoming its first councillor in 35 years. But the NF kicked him out after just a few weeks over comments he made to The Star. When challenged over the NF's openly racist policies, he said: "How can I be racist when I have had several coloured girlfriends?"

The NF expelled him over conflicts in "policies and beliefs" - and England First refused to take him back. EFP chair Mark Cotterill said: "We don't want anything to do with Coun Gamble. He has done nothing for the party, and when he left we washed our hands of him."

  1. If I was a betting man, I'd give one to a hundred on this Gamble bloke is one mixed up person.

  2. What a friggin' plank!

Fancy getting kicked out of a shower like the EFP. No doubt Gamble will be out at the next election.

  3. Just goes to show that Gamble was elected on a BNP platform and the voters certainly would have voted for the party name instead of him. Sadly, they could have stuck a BNP rosette on a hamster, stood it for election and got it elected.

Voters should really take a look at the actual candidates standing. That way, I reckon, a lot of BNP councillors wouldn't have got in in the first place. They really are a lacklustre bunch for the most part.
