Pics of the EDL in action (click to enlarge)Around 1000 EDL protesters gathered in front of the city's Harris Museum at 1pm, chanting, waving flags and letting off fireworks. At the other side of a police cordon, around 250 people had gathered at an anti-EDL demonstration organised by Preston Trades Council and Preston Unite Against Fascism. A police spokesman said: "Although there were minor scuffles among the EDL demonstrators, there were only a handful of arrests for drunken or disorderly behaviour."
The EDL demonstration was called to protest against a larger mosque being built on the site of an existing one in Watling Street Road in Preston.

I got as far as one policeman telling a young girl how he would be justified punching a drunk in the face before abandoning all hope that this programme would be in any way rational.

What did that copper call the UAF, state robots.
It would be good to see those policemen having to publically explain their actions, both during the protests and later. But I doubt it'll happen.
