Bid to jail BNP leader Nick Griffin adjourned

A move to jail British National Party leader Nick Griffin was adjourned today at the High Court.

The Commission for Equality and Human Rights has applied for the committal of Mr Griffin, deputy Simon Darby and party officer Tanya Lumby over allegations that the BNP has failed to remove potentially racist clauses from its constitution.

Mr Griffin, who is representing himself, has countered with an application for the cases to be thrown out.

At a brief hearing in London before Mrs Justice Nicola Davies, it was agreed the actions should be heard by two judges and be transferred to the Divisional Court for a two-day hearing starting on November 8.

Note: Eddy Butler's blog reports the following:
'Nick Griffin turned up half an hour late and submitted his skeleton argument late (yesterday afternoon) and the judge gave very strict instruction that a submission of legal argument and evidence prior to the hearing in November due to Griffin's history of very late submission of papers. The costs will be added onto the final bill.'

  5. I see that Nick PigPen is already lying to the BNP sheeple about today's proceedings and or being extremely economical with the actualities.

Amazing what a cult following this idiot has with his Griffintown flock/sheeple, blindly following him over the edge...

Gri££in was never the great White hope. There isn't one. Sheeple, wake up and get over it.

  8. It comes to a sad and sorry state that we (ex BNP's) are left to post our comments on Lancaster Unity - which, to be fair, has always been the best "LEFTIE" site. In fact, it's the only site that we bother with if truth be known. So congrats to you. Now, you are our shelter in a world of "only Nick's word will be heard". But. Let's be fair here. Barry Scott and Gary Raikes are not under investigation. So - Lancaster Unity - retain your "kudos" do not start talking shite. Just bathe in the pleasure of Nick and Jim destroying the party - that is reward enough, surely?

  10. Reckon there is some truth in the investigation into Raikes and Barry Scott. Don't put the lights out as you leave the room Gary - cos you know who's taking your seat! Bye bye.

  11. @breaking news from Scotland. I have phoned the Electoral Commission. If you are indeed "in the know", then you have to go to the Police because only they can start an investigation. The Council cannot start one. If you are "in the know" then why not phone someone with details of what you know - or go to the police who will obtain a court order to get the papers. If you want Raikes out - it's the only way. The BNP are dead in the water but may need some help with drowning!

  13. Its True as raikes did not get Signatures himself as he lives a good bit away from area he was standing in. So barry Scott had to get signatures for him. But under orders from Raikes. Who told him it would be okay.

If you think Griffin can lie, he iis a positive L plate learner when it comes to Raikes. Almost every decent member in Scotland has either downed tools or left the party. And he is down to the last few members to fill posts, although he blags about New this New post that on his blog....
