Prince mocks gays and Asians in secret video

6 Comment (s)
Prince Harry - racist, homophobic, ignorant and inbred. A BNP candidate if ever I saw one.
'Paki' jibe set to infuriate army chiefs aiming to recruit Muslims into forces

A secret video showing Prince Harry making racist remarks and mocking his late grandmother has been discovered.

The prince, who is third in line to the throne, made the comments in footage shot while training as an officer at the Sandhurst military academy in 2006, a year after being forced to make a public apology for wearing a Nazi swastika at a fancy dress party.

In the film, the 24-year-old prince calls an officer from the Pakistani army, who was on the course with him, "our little Paki friend" and, when he sees another officer cadet wearing a camouflage veil, exclaims: "Fuck me, you look like a raghead." He also mocks the Queen - the commander-in-chief of the British army - during a pretend mobile phone call to the late Queen Mother.

Last night, St James's Palace issued an apology for Harry's behaviour in the film, obtained by the News of the World. A Ministry of Defence spokesman said last night: "This sort of language is not acceptable in a modern army."

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has demanded a formal inquiry into Harry's behaviour, and Muslim groups and leading MPs have warned the comments could increase tensions with Islamic groups in the UK.

The film will infuriate army chiefs, who are actively trying to recruit Muslims as intelligence officers and translators for the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Staff officers have insisted the Army's policy must be "zero tolerance to all forms of discrimination". But the casual use of racist terms by Harry, who was promoted to lieutenant last year, appears to add weight to recent claims by a Jamaican-born soldier that he faced regular racist abuse from non-commissioned and senior officers.

In September, three army instructors were suspended after an undercover BBC investigation into the Infantry Training Centre at Catterick, in Yorkshire. During the programme, one recruit was secretly filmed yelling "Paki" as he plunged his bayonet into a target dummy.

The video begins as the prince joins other cadets gathering at an airport for their flight to Cyprus. Harry is behind the camcorder, panning over snoozing soldiers when he zooms in on the face of a Pakistani soldier. "Ah, our little Paki friend ... Ahmed," he whispers.

The second remark comes after arriving in Cyprus. Harry is again filming his comrades when one puts what appears to be some camouflage over his head. Harry says: "It's Dan the Man ... Fuck me, you look like a raghead."

Later, Harry is filmed pretending to finish a call to the Queen. "I've got to go, got to go. Send my love to the corgis. Send my love to the corgis and Grandpa. God Save You... yeah, that's great."

In another piece of footage, Harry gives orders to his comrades on an upcoming exercise. When he asks if there are any questions, one says: "Are your pubes ginger too?" Harry replies: "Yes, they are," to laughter from the rest.

Later Harry, again wielding the camera, asks another member of the squad to talk through the exercise they have just done. He asks for "your ups and downs in the exercise. Highs and lows ... Good points, bad points." Off camera, he adds: "How do you feel? Gay? Queer on the side?"

As the BNP and co aren't doing anything interesting enough to write about today, we'll have a caption competition: no prizes but let's have a few interesting (and not obscene) captions for this lovely picture of Dicky and, er, some fruit. On a bike.

BNP man's election clash

1 Comment (s)
A BNP supporter arrested after an election day clash with police was exercising his political rights, a court was told.

Father-of-two Shaun Jones, 27, claimed he had earlier been told by two officers he was free to stand by the side of the road at Penparcau, wave a BNP pamphlet and shout support for the far-right party - provided he was more than 30 yards from the village polling station.

But he was later approached by a police community support officer, told repeatedly to move on and was eventually arrested by police for an alleged public order offence.

Jones admitted arguing with the community support officer, but denied threatening behaviour, and was acquitted. Prosecuting, Lesley Harbon said Jones had been aggressive. Sergeant Huw Jones said Jones was agitated and sweating, and he ordered his arrest on the basis of what he had been told about Jones’ behaviour towards the support officer, Russell Farley.

But defence solicitor Colin Taylor told Aberystwyth magistrates:

“There is nothing to suggest he was doing anything untoward 30 yards down the road. He was exercising his political rights, and God forbid we reach the day when we’re hassled by the police for doing that. There’s nothing to stop Mr Jones standing on the side of the road canvassing for the BNP 24 hours a day, providing he doesn’t commit a public order offence. Being angry and being upset in this country is not a public order offence.”

Jones, of 102 Heol Tynyfron, Penparcau, also denied threatening behaviour towards an election official during an earlier incident, but was found guilty.

He said he had been impressed by the BNP’s election leaflet and had decided to vote for the first time. But at the polling-station at Penparcau’s Neuadd Goffa he was told he was not registered, so could not vote.

He told the court:

“I was angry at the whole situation, but not at anyone in particular.”

But Lesley Harbon, prosecuting, said Jones “ranted and raved” at election officials, waving a piece of wood to which he had attached the BNP leaflet, brandishing it in people’s faces, and as a result putting other people off voting.

Rachel Davies, the polling-station’s presiding officer at the 3 May Assembly election, said:

“Jones wasn’t on the electoral register. He became quite agitated, saying I wasn’t allowing him to vote. He had a stick in his hand and was waving it. He was raising his voice. We constantly repeated to him the process and that unfortunately I couldn’t help him. At the second or third time of asking, he did leave the voting area. I was getting a bit concerned about my own safety.”

Cross-examined, she added:

“He started raising his voice, saying we were stopping the BNP having any votes, and said he was going to report me to the police for not allowing him to vote. There was a lot of swearing going on.”

Officials gave Jones the number of the electoral registration officer in Aberaeron in an effort to resolve the problem, the court heard, and a policeman at the polling-station let him use his telephone. Jones said he later left the Neuadd Goffa and stood by the side of the road holding up the BNP leaflet and urging passers-by to vote for the party.

Equality fight on BNP councillor

2 Comment (s)
The British National Party (BNP) in the South West is launching a legal challenge after a member resigned from a Devon parish council.

BNP member Peter Pirnie was co-opted onto Kingswear Parish Council earlier this month. But he resigned after a row erupted over whether he had misled councillors about his political intentions.

The BNP says Mr Pirnie has been treated unfairly and is pursuing a case under the Equality Act 2006.

Bus driver Mr Pirnie, 49, unsuccessfully stood for a seat on the Kingswear Village ward in May. After the election the council advertised for members because only two people had come forward for the Hillhead ward, which normally has five councillors. Mr Pirnie was one of three people to apply for the posts, and councillors took a vote and co-opted all three on to the council.

Mr Pirnie described himself in the election as an independent, said the BNP. He then described himself as a "BNP councillor" in a BBC interview.

His appointment as a BNP councillor was also announced on the BNP website. That led to a row in which he was accused of misleading the parish council and he resigned last week.

Peter Mullins, South West regional organiser of the BNP, said: "Mr Pirnie is an ideal member of the parish council and it seems a shame that has not been allowed to take up the post. He is a decent sort of guy. He's lived there for 30 years and wanted to do something for the community."

No-one was available for comment from the parish council.

Barnbrook does St George (so to speak)

8 Comment (s)

Just a little late for St George's Day (April 23rd, like you didn't know) but this short film of the ridiculous Richard Barnbrook, dressed up as George, along with a karate-practising dragon (possibly played by Hitlerite buffoon Mark Collett) made us laugh so much we just had to share it with you.

Which reminds us that we meant to ask if anyone had a copy of the appalling HMS Discovery that we could force ourselves to watch, so we could do a proper in-depth review of it just before the elections for London Mayor. Barnbrook being the BNP's candidate, we thought we'd review his accomplishments but as he hasn't actually accomplished anything as leader of the BNP group on Barking and Dagenham, we're looking for bits and pieces about his past. Feel free to email us with anything of interest... :-)
