As we all know, the BNP swerves between being just generally skint and completely legally bankrupt. While this situation suits some people (Nick Griffin, for instance, who can send out an endless stream of badly-written begging letters on the back of it) the membership appears to be getting a tad pissed off with forever being asked to underwrite Griffin's schemes and scams rather than just getting on with campaigning - which, after all, is what a political party should be doing if it has any real intention of gaining power.
Whether Griffin actually wants the party to gain power or not is a moot point and one that is up for discussion: many people are of the opinion that he is perfectly content to stay where he is and to keep the BNP where it is, futile hope being all that keeps the BNP members throwing money at Griffin.
As we reported here, the party's Red, White and Blue event only happened because it was subsidised heavily to the tune of £5000. Without that money, the whole weekend would have been a financial disaster - with it, the BNP has once more teetered back from the edge of the abyss. Speculation has been rife over which rich idiot might actually have been moronic enough to hand Nick Griffin £5000 in readies.
Glasgow BNP member and Stadium Manager for Hamilton Academicals Walter Hamilton allegedly provided the £5k, though there is a rumour, not heard until yesterday, that there were actually TWO donations. This fact is mentioned in a peripheral way by a poster on another blog, who says;
'I overheard Griffin bragging about "2 Scottish idiots with money" at RWB...'
We only know of Hamilton but we'd love to hear who the other RWB-subsidy was from. Answers via email or the comments section please, if you have them.
One wonders about Hamilton's position within the club staff and how that relates to his membership of the notably racist, homophobic and fascist British National Party. The club's website has a clear Anti Discrimination Policy on its site which doesn't seem to gel much with the views of the BNP.
'Hamilton Academical Football Club is responsible for setting standards and values to apply throughout the club at every level. Football belongs to and should be enjoyed by everyone, equally. Our commitment is to confront and eliminate discrimination or any other conduct that could be deemed as unacceptable whether by reason of sex, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or disability.'
Perhaps we ought to ask some of the people Mr Hamilton works with. Those with available email addresses include:
Les Gray - Vice Chairman & Director of Youth Development: les@acciesfc.co.uk
Ron McKinnon - Stadium Director: ron@acciesfc.co.uk
Scott Struthers - Secretary: scott@acciesfc.co.uk
Ken Blake - Associate Director Finance: ken@acciesfc.co.uk
Brian Cairney - Associate Director Youth: brian@acciesfc.co.uk
Denis Gowans - Associate Director Stadium: denis@acciesfc.co.uk
Arthur Lynch - Commercial & Hospitality: arthur@acciesfc.co.uk
John Vint - Commercial Manager: jvint@acciesfc.co.uk
Caroline Gray - Children's Programme Co-ordinator: caroline@acciesfc.co.uk
Ross Hughes - Sports Scientist: ross@acciesfc.co.uk
Frankie McAvoy - Academy Director: frankie@acciesfc.co.uk
Anthony Burns - Community Programme Officer: anthony@acciesfc.co.uk
Or of course, we could ask Mr Hamilton himself. His email address is stadiummanager@hafccommercial.co.uk
If you do decide to get in touch with Mr Hamilton or any of his colleagues, please remember to be polite, whoever you communicate with and however you communicate with them.

Caption competition time again
Without being utterly filthy, we'd like to see some interesting captions for this lovely picture of fugly-porn star and la-la Martin Reynolds and er, friend, at the RWB. Do try not to be too obscene (though I can understand the difficulty).

Nick Griffin fends off challengers and gains severance package in stage-managed EGM

Welcome to the BNP's family fun weekend
- Challengers must get 5% of long-term membership to endorse them
- Severance package of approx £30,000 could bankrupt BNP instantly
The first was the ludicrous attempt to stop leadership challenges being made annually by changing the rules so that they could only be made every four years. Clearly this was never a serious proposal and was never expected to get through but an even more outrageous proposal did win and that was to limit challengers to those who could gain endorsement from 5% of the membership.
Whether this means members who have had unbroken membership of the party for two years or five years has not yet been made clear (though two year membership sounds most likely - there's not that many who have been in the party for five years apart from Griffin himself). Colin Auty's recent leadership challenge failed because he was unable to find one hundred two-year members to support him. If this two-year membership rule is still the case, the numbers are difficult though manageable. The BNP has a notoriously high turnover of members, only retaining an estimated 10% of the membership permanently (or until they're thrown out on some pretext or other) which, taking the BNP's claimed 10,000 members at face-value (though the true figure is unlikely to be anywhere near that), leaves a pool of 1,000 from which the challenger would have to find 50 signatories. If you don't think this is bizarre, consider this: just a dozen nomination signatures could get you elected on to a local authority.
Fifty signatures would be difficult enough but if the pool turns out to be the entire membership, any challenger would be expected to obtain 500 signatures, a next to impossible objective especially when one considers that the party refuses to release the membership list to any challenger (using a dodgy and possibly illegal interpretation of the Data Protection Act for its purpose) and that the challenger gets no opportunity to present his/her case to the membership as a whole as part of the challenge campaign.
Assuming the two-year rule is to be the one used, it's apparent that the membership doesn't trust Griffin in the least. A poster from a member of the BNP via the NWN blog says;
'If anyone thinks that the HQ will release confidential membership details which are both accurate and up to date to a would be challenger think again. They will supply a dummy set of records and then protest when the 200 or so names are submitted because a handful are (deliberatley) false.'
This appalling and anti-democratic change to the BNP has its internal opponents seething. As one of the dissidents said in another comment on the North West Nationalist blog;
'...let's just suppose for the minute that any potential challenger knows 500 people without having access to the lists. Can he/she be sure of their membership status? Or that, having achieved the impossible and collected 500 signatures, the membership will not suddenly have leapt to 15,000 in the meantime? Failing a successful legal challenge, there is now no way that Griffin can be removed from the leadership of the BNP - fact!'
That this farce was completely stage-managed is obvious. Just a few days ago, the party happened to mention that it intended to publish membership figures every July (which will be interesting to compare with the official numbers reported to the Electoral Commission each year). Then there is the fact that Griffin's four-year proposal was spoken against by his long-acknowledged supporters - Richard Barnbrook, Arthur Kemp, the vile Mark Collett, Eddie Butler and co, none of whom would say anything against Griffin or his machinations even if you held a knife to their throats because they all rely on his continuing patronage for their survival and their wage packets - some of the latter very considerable.
The second proposal that those inside the party don't really seem to have realised the potential impact of yet, is the agreement to give Nick Griffin and subsequent party leaders a severance package. I'm sure we can all name the severance package we'd like to give Griffin but in this case, as usual with King Nick, this one is all about money. It's worth remembering though before we get into this, that the BNP states in its accounts that none of its employees has a pension. Part of Dave Hannam's statement in the accounts says;
'Because of the size of the party and the number of staff the party does not have a pension scheme, but this position is under continual review.'
It would be untenable for the party to give Nick Griffin a pension but not to give one to the rest of its employees, so instead of a pension, Griffin has wangled himself a 'severance package', meaning a payout rumoured to be as much as £30,000 if and when the membership of the party comes to its senses and boots the pig farmer out on his ear.
A payment of this magnitude will - and Griffin will certainly know this - bankrupt the party instantly. At any given moment, the BNP is operating on a financial knife-edge and a slip of any kind will damage it irreversibly. As a for instance, we reported here just a few days ago that the party had to accept a CASH donation of £5000 to subsidise the Red, White and Blue. Without that, there was less than £5000 in the bank and the party would have had to go into the red or borrow money, assuming that the latter is possible.
Despite the propaganda that's being thrown around to the contrary, numbers were well down this year - 2600 over the weekend, compared to last year's claimed 4000. Seats, marquees, generators, toilets and the rides were all cash on delivery, which would mean a lot of the £5000 will be gone already, and the temporary bouncers that were taken on for the weekend for £50 cash in hand a day each plus food and petrol would have knocked a sizeable dent in any money that was left. Even the children's rides weren't as popular this year - which is a laugh for us because they also made a large loss last year - meaning another few hundred pounds was poured away so the BNP could have its annual ego-massage and Griffin could make sure he got what he wanted to secure his future. Naturally, the party will have made a bomb out of letting tent space to the members and selling them ASDA-burgers for £2 a go - only to see that money disappear into the usual black hole.
For a party so financially rocky, the idea that it has been committed to a sudden payout of £30,000 at the whim of its mercurial leader, is startling and, even more worrying for the membership, this decision comes just a short while after the party has suffered numerous exposes about the treasury and what it gets up to and in particular, what Griffin is getting up to on the quiet. While he and the loathsome Mark Collett both seem to be making a fortune, the party's finances seem to be chugging inexorably downhill.
If Griffin suddenly decides he's had enough, the BNP is dead.
We'll leave this (for the moment) with a quote from a current member of the BNP (though not for long by the sound of it):
'I'm cutting up my membership card and sending the pieces to Griffin telling him he can stick his dictatorial regime up his vast backside.'
So there.

To add to its distasteful racism, anti-Semitism and residual anti-Catholicism, the BNP is an unequivocally homophobic party. The BNP views homosexuality in the same terms as it views the white working class: both are regarded as internal threats to the purity and strength of the White race and Britain. Given this, it is quite surprising to find married heterosexual and BNP Worcestershire Organiser Donna Hancock not only proclaim herself to be an open lesbian but that she intends to wed her girlfriend and take her to the BNP annual piss-up, the Red, White and Blue ‘festival’. If anything, Donna Hancock is making a big mistake and should brace herself for the inevitable backlash from the BNP rank-and-file.
The hypocrisy
Along with husband Lee Hancock (a BNP candidate), Donna Hancock operates the BNP blog, Worcestershire Nationalist. Despite Donna Hancock proclaiming herself as the BNP’s only open gay organiser, we find the following homophobic statements on the Worcestershire Nationalist blog directed at one of Britain’s leading anti-fascist activists, Denise Garside, herself an openly gay women (in addition to other homophobic writings):
“the lesbian Garside”, “Garside a fucking dyke”, “LGPA (Lesbian and Gay Police Association) = Looks Good Patently Aesthetic”
BNP Worcestershire Organiser Donna Hancock’s lesbian postings
Posting on the lesbian forum LoveGirls.co.uk (‘For girls who love girls’), Donna Hancock claims that not only can a lesbian be a raving fascist but that she also plans to take her girlfriend to the BNP’s Red, White and Blue festival:
“Hi, this issue bugs me loads. I'm a political animal and when I inform others of this there is often an automatic assumption that because of my lesbian preferences my political leanings must be of a liberal or leftist persuasion. In fact my political views are what could be termed on the right if one uses arguably out-dated political mapping. Anyway, I am planning to attend the BNP's RWB (Red White and Blue festival) in Derbyshire in August. Bet my g/f and I will be the only gay women present (just like last year although we did not go around asking or advertising ourselves as such!!) but why should this be so? Gay women have a lot to offer and this applies across the political spectrum. Please join me in fighting against the political stereotyping of gay women! It's all hands on deck as we battle encroaching liberal-fascism!”
Incredibly, Donna Hancock then tries to spin an image of the BNP as non-homophobic:
“From what I can gather about BNP attitudes, there are no more homophobes in its ranks than in any other Party and actually, suprisingly enough to anyone who believes that a so-called far right Party would be anti-gay”
As we show below, not only is Donna Hancock in denial over the BNP’s homophobia but is either a liar or overwhelmingly naive about the BNP. Donna Hancock goes on to regal us with the colours and styles of pubic hair that she and her girlfriend sport as well as the fascist-inspired tattoos she has on her genitals (she also says that “I am butch and I used to sign off my emails and texts 'the cock' (short form of my surname). Sort of gave it away I guess!”). Donna Hancock also tells us of her plan to wed her girlfriend, something, as detailed below, the BNP are definitely opposed to:
“Can anyone recommend a lesbian-friendly wedding planner? I'm in the West Midlands but I suppose my big day could be arranged from a laptop in the Outer Hebrides if need be!”
But, Donna Hancock then admits to fearing her family’s homophobia:
“I don't think that some of my relatives have even sussed that I am a lesbian ... I can't help but feel sort of gagged as these people are my family and I don't want to fall out with them ... How on earth do you come out to your dearest relatives when you know that they will not accept it in a million years?”
If Donna Hancock fears the reaction of her family, then she should defiantly fear the reaction of her fellow BNP members.
The BNP’s pure, unrefined homophobia
The BNP’s only elected member of the London Assembly, Richard Barnbrook, condemned homosexuality in the following terms:
“There is a close analogy here with homosexuality. No one knows what causes some individuals to do what the majority of any healthy society places on a scale somewhere between distasteful and abhorrent, but some individuals will behave in that way whatever the bulk of popular opinion ... [in] the present circumstances where such "alternative lifestyle choices" are presented as valid – even superior – by the most powerful behavioural modification programme in human history”
This homophobia has been translated in murderous violence. Former BNP member, David Copeland, bombed the Soho gay pub, Admiral Duncan, killing three people in a homophobic terrorist attack. David Copeland said his act was inspired by the BNP leadership. Readers can click on this link for a picture of David Copeland with master homophobe, BNP founder and leader John Tyndall. This is what BNP leader Nick Griffin said about the anti-gay Admiral Duncan bombing in the BNP’s then official magazine, Spearhead (June 1999):
“TV footage of …gay demonstrators flaunting their perversion in front of journalists showed why so many ordinary people find these creatures so repulsive”
David Copeland is not the only BNP-linked person to have carried out homophobic violence. In an April 2000 interview, BNP Thurrock organiser Dave Strickson boasted of attacking gays and lesbians in what he termed “queer-bashing” in Leicester Square. Further, BNP councillor Ian Meller was arrested as part of an armed fascist gang who attempted to attack a Gay Pride march in Leicester.
Writing in the BNP’s magazine, Identity (December 2003), BNP leader Nick Griffin denounced homosexuality as “form of behavioural deviancy”, “not a valid lifestyle choice” and “homosexuality is wrong” that “needs to be pushed humanely but firmly back into the closet”. Nick Griffin then issues this warning to gays and lesbians: if they continue to “press their aims further” there will be an “almighty backlash” which will result in the imprisonment of homosexuals in Britain. Nick Griffin has even advocated ways of criminalising gays and lesbians:
“There's plenty of people making soap operas that present homosexuality as a wonderful lifestyle, which as a matter of fact it very often isn't .. So if you fined or even imprisoned a BBC filmmaker for breaching those laws, then it's not persecuting a homosexual necessarily, it's persecuting someone for breaking those laws”
The BNP’s Director of Publicity (and former head of Young BNP) Mark Collett went on to call gay and lesbians: "AIDS Monkeys", "bum bandits" and "faggots" and said the idea of homosexuality was a "sickening thought". Also, that AIDS is a “friendly disease because blacks, drug users and gays have it”. Not surprisingly, a BNP spokesman told the gay newspaper PinkNews that:
“Some unfortunate people suffer from homosexuality so we will just have to tolerate them. If I was one I would be ashamed and would remain celibate”
The BNP’s founder John Tyndall in his official Dagenham by-election leaflet promised that the BNP would ban all funding to gay and lesbian groups. BNP London organiser Nick Eriksen even went on to claim that gays and lesbians attempt to convert heterosexuals to homosexuality:
"It therefore follows however that I do not approve of those who proselytise in favour of homosexuality or ‘homosexual rights’, or who parade proclaiming their homosexuality to the world"
The BNP’s website also carries the following homophobic policy:
“On the other hand the BNP is not blinded or cowed by political correctness and recognises that homosexuality, which affects less than 2% of the population, is not the norm and that homosexual relationships do not produce offspring – essential to the survival of a people and a nation. We therefore believe in a policy of tolerance to all forms of adult sexuality, but homosexuality should not be promoted or encouraged. The BNP ... is opposed to the flaunting or celebrating of homosexuality which ‘civil partnerships’ represent. We believe that the government should adopt a more neutral position towards homosexuality rather than aiding and encouraging it by passing legislation specifically and solely designed to favour it”
So, will Donna Hancock still persist in her myopic belief that the BNP will accept gay persons such as herself? When will she stop propagating the lie that the BNP can accept gays and lesbians? Is her hatred for non-Whites so overwhelming that she’s prepared to throw her lot in with an organisation that despises her too? Is this a turkey voting for Christmas?
Donna Hancock and her BNP husband Lee Hancock

The not so 'indigenous White' Donna Hancock and her Jewish roots
On the lesbian forum LoveGirls.co.uk, Donna Hancock admits to being East European Jewish in origin (not a good thing in the BNP) on her mother’s side:
“Tell me about it! I'm jewish on my mother's side ... They even talk about 'nice jewish boys' they want to introduce me to. I hear them 'kvetching' (complaining) ... Oy vey! ... All I want is 'a maidel mit a klaidel'. (trad yiddish for a woman in a pretty dress). Gezundheit to all reading this!”
Yet, posting on the Worcester News website, Donna Hancock gives the deliberate impression that she’s 100% White indigenous Briton when she writes:
“As to who are the indigenous Britons: The most up to date genetic studies have shown that three quarters of all British people are direct descendants of the first inhabitants of the British Isles that came here at the end of the last Ice Age, around 13,000 years ago, from the Iberian Peninsula .. There were later invasions and less violent immigrations which left a small genetic signal but no individual event contributed even a tenth of our modern genetic mix. So we are in fact an extremely homogenous people and indeed the indigenous, aboriginal people of this land. And as such, we have just as much right to fight for our interests in our homeland as other indigenous people around the world are encouraged and applauded for doing”
Donna Hancock dissimulation is further compounded by the following racist statement against Eastern Europeans on the Worcestershire Nationalist blog:
“They [Eastern Europeans] may be White, my comrades, but they have a completely different culture. And the hardships they faced in their own countries make them opportunists in ours”
One minority attacks another minority
Is Donna Hancock an inconsistent enigma? We ask this question because in the following posting on the Evening Standard website, Donna Hancock seems to be arguing for equal rights for non-White lesbians:
“Ken has not done nearly enough for us gay women! Where are the gay women in prominent positions within the Labour Party, let alone in the canteens of London? And there are sizeable numbers of lesbians who happen to be BME [Black and Ethnic Minority] -where are the support network for gay BME women fleeing from prejudice within their communities? After all, there's lots of support for heterosexual women fleeing forced marriages! - Donna Hancock, UK”
Yet, in a posting on the BNP’s website Donna Hancock rants against non-Whites as “the advancing dark hordes”:
“I’ve always thought that the best way to destroy something is to take the p*** out of it. “The Life of Brian” did a lot to destroy Christianity. I never thought I’d hear myself saying this, but we’ve got to support Christianity against the advancing dark hordes because, in reality, what sounds better to you? The sound of church bells, or the sound of wailing Muslims? We’re talking about the destruction of 2,000 years of religious history here. Not to mention such places as Avebury and Stonehenge. These sites have a huge cultural significance to us all that outweigh any islamic prayers, because these sites are linked to the ancient gods of Europe. Our gods stem from the beliefs of the Germanic people, and the people that built these ancient sites are our people. Anyway, is it just me or does Rowan Williams look a bit/ a lot Satanic? :D”
Donna Hancock in denial
Some BNP members claim that Donna Hancock is, like BNP deputy leader Simon Darby, a MI5 agent. It is pointed out that within a relatively short period of time Donna Hancock has been elevated to three senior positions within the BNP: BNP Worcestershire Organiser, the BNP’s national enquires team and the BNP’s membership team. But, we’ve got a more plausible explanation. As we all know, the BNP is renowned for a being a party of slavish political correctness. Indeed, the BNP proudly boasts of its equal opportunities program for marginalised minorities such as married heterosexual, part-Jewish and part-Eastern European lesbians such as Donna Hancock. The BNP must have stumbled across Donna Hancock when they read her post in which she complains about persons like her being grossly under-represented in British politics:
“As a gay woman, I would like to know what Ken and Boris plan to do for me - lesbians are terribly under-represented in most fields. And why the stereotype of the left-wing butch dyke (although I'm proud to be a teensy bit butch). My girlfriend and I happen to be right of centre politically”
Don’t worry Donna you’ll do fine in the BNP. It's full of misfits like you, so you should feel at home! You're a great advert for the BNP's much touted family values policy. We just hope that you were holding your girlfriend’s hand at the Red, White and Blue festival.
¡No Pasarán!
To add to its distasteful racism, anti-Semitism and residual anti-Catholicism, the BNP is an unequivocally homophobic party.

Red, White and Blue protest pulls in 700 while Martin Reynolds begs police for help

Around seven hundred people turned up in Denby today to protest against the BNP's Red, White and Blue booze-fest. Among the organisations represented were members of various unions including NASUWT, Unite, PCS, CWU, Trade Union Friends of Searchlight and Unison, Notts Stop the BNP, Searchlight, Hope not Hate, Derby Racial Equality Council, UAF and a whole bunch of locals determined never to have the BNP anywhere near their homes and families again.
They may well have got their way. Around two hundred and fifty police officers, some in riot gear, were deployed, plus a helicopter was keeping an eye on things from above for most of the day. The cost must have been astronomical - and all to protect a load of fascists, their minders and scum like Petra Edelmannova, chair of the far-right Czech National Party, who is a guest of the BNP this weekend.
The police were pretty much everywhere - though mainly at the gathering-point, where there was a number of speakers throughout the afternoon, and at the entrance to the RWB itself - though that seemed to be well-covered by a number of thugs who looked ready to kill and eat anyone who pissed them off.
The march from the village to the site was marred by a brief fracas between anti-fascists and BNP members after the former were attacked by the latter. The groups were separated by police. On several occasions, anti-fascists tried to break through police lines to enter the RWB site itself but were beaten back by riot police and officers with dogs. Apart from these brief interludes, the event went off peacably, with the assistant chief constable of Derbyshire Police Peter Goodman stating: 'We did have an incident which took place with a small number of people, but the majority of people who have come here today behaved impeccably.'
Six arrests were made during the attempts to break through police lines (including across the fields behind the site) but a further twenty-seven occurred as the groups began to disperse and return to their homes or vehicles, when they were in many cases set upon by BNP supporters.
Some of the more interesting action took place behind the scenes and well out of the public eye. One of our supporters had a receiver that could pick up the police band and we were treated to a breathless step by step account of the chase over the fields that only ended (for us) when the noise from the police helicopter drowned out everything else.
Once back on the radio, one of our group pointed out that the police referred to us as 'reds' all the way through the day, including the anarchists - described as a 'bunch of reds' even though they were dressed all in black. Nice to know the police aren't biased in any way.
At 1214 a message was sent to BNP security stating, 'security on the front gate, be aware the reds are on their way up'. There were a number of delays which led to the BNP's Head of Security Martin Reynolds getting in a major panic and yelling for help from the police and anyone else in the vicinity, leading to the police having to tell him (at 1310) to 'breathe deep and calm down...there's too many security on the main gate and it's starting to look a bit shabby'.
Despite having eight of his official gorillas and numerous vicious-looking thugs with him on the main gate, Reynolds was still in a panic at having to face thirty peaceful anti-fascists and called for help again, only to be told by a clearly angry control 'that's enough'. Having embarrassed Reynolds into silence, the controller wearily ordered another couple of officers to head up to the main gate, just to stop his whining. Shortly after this, the police insisted that BNP security instituted a rota system rather than the current random mess where anyone who is a violent thug is automatically deemed to be a member of the security team. Clearly the current security team in the BNP is full of amateurs who simply create problems for the police.
All in all, a fantastic turnout, some excellent speakers, a good march in (mostly) nice weather and the point that the BNP is not welcome in Denby was well and truly made, despite the twat who illegally sells samurai swords, guns, knives and air rifles in his tatty shop sticking pro-BNP flags and posters up all over it. Well done to the organisers and everybody who travelled from afar and let's hope the BNP can take a hint and hold their festival on Nick Griffin's land next year. If he likes the festival so much, let him put up with the noise, the drunkeness, the dodgy toilets and the scum infesting the area around his home. The people of Denby have had enough.

Covert's Tommy Williams ordered to retract lie about bomb at BNP's RWB

A few hours ago a report (posted by the idiotic Tommy Williams of Covert Undercover Nuisance Tactics, the pro-Griffin bully-boys of the blogging world) on the nazi Stormfront forum claimed that a bomb had gone off at the entrance to the Red, White and Blue site in the early hours of this morning. The blame was laid very firmly at the feet of 'reds', by which the writers mean anyone who dares to oppose the fascist BNP and the thugs and thieves that infest it.
A short while later, we received an email that told us that Nick Griffin had been overheard on the phone to Williams. Here's part of the message.
'...he tore into him, telling him what a stupid cunt he was and screaming about did he want to bankrupt the fucking party cos he's going the right way about it and to print a retraction and fucking hurry up for this gets spread about.'
Williams' bright idea was to spread it about that the anti-fascists opposing the Red, White and Blue were dangerous terrorists - any hint of bombs and the mind moves easily and obviously to terrorism. Just one problem - there was NO bomb or indeed, incident of any kind. Williams made the whole thing up in the hope that some anti-fascists would keep away from the event and that the police would be even less tolerant than they already are.
Being stupid, Williams forgot to wonder what the effect might be on those BNP-supporters who are attending or planning to attend (some with children) the RWB who, it can easily be assumed, would be reluctant to set foot in a place where bombs might be flying around.
Nick Griffin was obviously well aware of the possibilities and after the 'angry and hysterical' phone call, Williams changed his original post on Stormfront to read:
'It seems we may have given out some wrong information regarding an incident that happened in the early hours of this morning at the RWB. We can now confirm what was originally reported was nothing to do with the RWB. And the sound was actually a firework set off by locals (probably kids) and due to the time in the morning the sound travelled. This had NOTHING to do with the RWB in any shape or form and we can only apologise for any mis-information we got at the time...'
Griffin's worries about the financial state of the Red, White and Blue are well-justified. In fact it seemed unlikely that it could continue without incurring devastatingly massive losses for the party until a Glasgow BNP member came up with £5000 to subsidise it just a couple of days ago (more on this over the next day or two). A pity really because without this subsidy, the party might well have hit bankruptcy sooner rather than later - it has a good deal less than that left in its bank account.
The BNP is teetering on a financial tightrope and is very close to falling off. Another push or two, like the one just given by Tommy Williams, and that could be it.
Thanks Tommy, keep up the good work. :-)

This article was submitted by one of our readers, Iliacus. We welcome any contributions from our supporters (as long as those contributions conform to the law and are in reasonably good taste). Please send your articles to us via email.
The previous articles by Iliacus regarding the BNP accounts are below:
The Accounts (1): First Impressions
The Accounts (2): "We wuz robbed"
The Accounts (3): Figure Skating
The Accounts (4): "and for my next trick"
I have recently been reading, as one does, a history of the Neath and Brecon Railway. This was a fairly insignificant railway company in South Wales, operating - oddly enough - between Neath and Brecon! It may not immediately seem of any relevance to the cause of anti-fascism except that its financial affairs (to which I might return in a future article) echoed those of a certain far-right political party of the present day.
In particular I was taken by the following comments by the authors, written in 2005 in respect of accounts published in the 1860s:
"The balance sheet for year end 1866...is tantalising in what it leaves unsaid and without further figures...it is only part of the picture. This statement falls short of the standards of reporting required today and its odd assortment of balances have the slender merit of providing cosmetic comfort to the casual observer."
What a splendid turn of phrase - and so appropriate to the subject of this series of articles, the 2007 BNP Accounts!
In this final article I want to concentrate on two areas - the sales of party publications (Identity and Voice of Freedom) and the Trafalgar Club. I will start with the publications, and a quick review of what they comprise. Voice of Freedom is a monthly tabloid; the front page normally carries an emotive lead story related to the evils of immigration while the other three pages are full of accounts of local meetings raising unprecedented levels of donations, adoration of the leader, and plenty of opportunities for readers to send money to the BNP for various items of tat! Identity is the party's exploration of the theoretical principles of nationalism (i.e. it's full of middle-aged white men ranting about the evils of the modern world!)
My comments are based on an interpretation of the way these items are dealt with financially. I have to make reasonable assumptions, which may be rash in the context of BNP accounting. Those assumptions are as follows:
So, let's look at the performance in selling this stuff in 2007, and a comparison with 2006, starting with Identity. In 2006 printing cost £30,000 - by 2007 it was £34,000; allowing for inflation this implies a small increase in print runs. Income in '06 was nearly £45,000 (a surplus of around £15,000 but see below); in '07 income nationally fell to £32,000 (a deficit of £2,000). A bad enough trend, but there's worse to come [worse for the BNP I emphasise; I think it's great!]. In 2006 the RAU (i.e. the branches) spent nearly £17,000 buying Identity - and raised £11,000 by selling them, wiping out a fair chunk of the National Accounts surplus. In 2007 the RAU spent over £22,000 on copies of Identity - and raised just £8,000 from selling them!
So in 2006 the branches "lost" £5,500 selling Identity - and in 2007 they "lost" over £14,000 doing so. In 2006 just over a third of copies were unloaded by the national party onto the branches - by 2007 that proportion had nearly doubled!
Let's have a look at Voice of Freedom (VoF). In 2006 the party spent £37,000 printing copies - this fell in 2007 to just over £32,000. Perhaps Mr Collett negotiated a special deal, but to this cynical observer it suggests a fall in the print run. Certainly the fall in national sales, from £66,000 to £57,000 suggests that copies weren't flying off the metaphorical shelves! And when we get to branch level, the trend identified with Identity is repeated, and then some!
In 2006 the branches were billed for just over half of all VoF sales (£34,000 - 52% of the total). By 2007 the branches were being billed for over £52,000 of sales - an extraordinary 91% of the total! And this wasn't because they were finding it any easier to sell the damned things! Sales at RAU level fell from £26,000 in '06 to under £20,000 in '07.
So overall, in 2006 the party as a whole made a surplus of £9,217 from Identity and £20,580 from VoF. In 2007 Identity lost £16,186 and even VoF recorded a deficit of £7,641. At branch (or RAU) level both made a loss in both years, a sign of the local membership subsidising the party centrally. But the scale of that subsidy has rocketed.
In 2006 the RAU lost £5,500 on Identity - in 2007 it was £14,215.
On VoF the RAU lost £8,698 in 2006 - in 2007 this shot up to a £32,515 loss.
In 2006 local branches, through Identity and VoF, subsidised 'HQ' to the tune of £19,715. In 2007 it was £46,730! And what will it be in 2008 at that rate of increase?
In the context of the earlier articles in this series there is a clear picture emerging of a party sliding into financial difficulties from the centre, and frantically plugging the gap by increasingly sucking money from the local organisations. The evidence for this is not just the growing subsidy through Identity and VoF sales identified in this article, but also the increasing 'loan' from the RAU to the national party set out in article number 4.
And so to a brief word on the Trafalgar Club. This is basically a dining club which, in principle, differs little from similar schemes run by other parties. In this case, in return for a substantial donation, you have the opportunity to enjoy a meal (of debatable quality) followed by a speech from Nick Griffin. Astonishingly, some people actually take up this offer!
What is strange is the way this is handled in the Accounts. It is, we are told in the Chairman's Introduction" a "body ... administered by this department [Administration] ... in order to avoid the danger of 'all eggs in one basket' the National Treasurer is not permitted to handle this body's finances" but it is subject to "full external audit".
This is a very strange arrangement, as well as being pretty offensive to a treasurer who is allowed to handle everything else but not - for some reason - the Trafalgar Club. By external audit they are presumably referring to the audit of accounts prepared by Silver and Co - but they are reporting on Accounts prepared by...the National Treasurer, who is "not permitted to handle this body's finances"! So are the Trafalgar Club's transactions contained within the BNP's Accounts or not? And if so, where? And if not, then how are they subject to "external audit"?
There are malcontents within the BNP (or recently expelled therefrom) who allege that the proceeds of this Club have too close a relationship to Nick Griffin's back pocket - there is nothing in the BNP's accounts to disprove those suggestions!

My comments are based on an interpretation of the way these items are dealt with financially. I have to make reasonable assumptions, which may be rash in the context of BNP accounting. Those assumptions are as follows:
- that intitial printing costs are met by the party nationally;
- that sales are then made either directly or via branches, and the latter therefore appear in the accounts of the RAU (Regional Accounting Unit);
- that expenditure by the RAU (in buying copies) is balanced in the income column of the National Accounts (as supplier).
So, let's look at the performance in selling this stuff in 2007, and a comparison with 2006, starting with Identity. In 2006 printing cost £30,000 - by 2007 it was £34,000; allowing for inflation this implies a small increase in print runs. Having now had the opportunity to view the 2007 Accounts of the BNPs Regional Accounting Unit, I shall seek to assess its significance to the party as a whole. By a very brief word of explanation the RAU acts to draw together all of the local BNP groups and accounts, in order to present consolidated accounts to the Electoral Commission, as required by law. (At least, that's the theory; as we shall see, the reality is a little different.)
At face value the RAU accounts look to be the party's salvation, a cavalry racing over the horizon to rescue the party from insolvency. During 2007 it recorded a substantial increase in income (up 35%), achieved a surplus on the year, and recorded year-end balance sheet assets sufficient to exceed the deficit recorded by the party nationally.
But closer examination reveals a picture which is distinctly less rosy. Griffin's critics, on the challengeforleadership website, have tabled a damning verdict on the RAU accounts, all the more telling for being an internal critique. I don't normally recommend far-right websites, but this one is worth a read on this occasion.
Anyway, back to my take on the RAU. Initially the income and expenditure account looks to be in trouble, with donation income down from £136,000 to £93,022 and fundraising down from £15,000 to £2,500. "Commercial activities" (somehow the terms activity and commercial seem unlikely terms to apply to the BNP !) made a loss of £16,000 in 2006, which had worsened to a loss of £66,000 in 2007! Add to this an increase of campaign expenditure of over £50,000 and it's all looking grim ... until, from nowhere, there appears a new income line - "Petty Cash Difference" amounting to £147,119. This, it would seem, is simply cash held in various petty cash accounts at branch, regional or fundraising group levels for which no source can be traced - "we've got this money, but we don't know where it's come from !"
There are probably any number of possible explanations for this, but two seem particularly interesting to your author:
Anyway, the sudden discovery of that £147,000 in the petty cash box (!) means that the RAU's income for the year is up by £75,000 on the year - neatly (suspiciously neatly?) balanced by an increased expenditure of £76,000. So the surplus for the year is £16,059 against £17,399 in 2006.
And so to the balance sheet, where net assets show a corresponding increase from £85,138 at end 2006 to £101,197 at end 2007. Which means - to cheers from pig farms throughout the Welshpool area - that the Party finished 2007 with assets exceeding liabilities to the tune of £15,606. The Party is not bankrupt, nor is it insolvent. It has net assets. It's doing better than the Labour Party. One can sense the leader's raised finger(s) in the face of his critics.
But, but, perhaps it's not that straightforward.
Firstly, the party's claim to have net assets depends on the valuation of its fixed assets and as I have indicated previously there must be doubts that the book value of its assets (all those printing machines!) could actually be realised if offered for sale.
Secondly, the party overall is only solvent if the national party can access moneys held by branches and other bodies within the party. Now don't get me wrong - I have no doubt that exercise of the fuhrerprinzip would allow the leadership to seize any assets within the RAU. That would help the national party's solvency, but at what cost to the party? How would the officers of local parties in Stoke, or Barking, or Rotherham or Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh respond to seeing locally-raised cash, already set aside for local campaigning, seized for national party purposes?
Thirdly, this process has already begun with RAU money being "loaned" to the national party at a rate of around £20,000 in each of the past two years. This has led the auditors to qualify the RAU accounts by a proviso that the money loaned to the national party (£41,831 at December 2007) might be unreclaimable.
Fourthly, there is increasing evidence that the party's financial discipline (never very robust) may be disintegrating. The appearance of £147,000 of unsourced income in 2007 was a sign of this, linked to comments on various far-right websites to the effect that local fundholders are concealing income to protect it from national officers. The 2007 accounts showed a 39% decrease in income from collections at meetings, in a year when membership supposedly increased by over 50%. I'd love that to be an accurate reflection of members' declining commitment - perhaps it is. But I suspect it's probably also linked to more localised fundholding which theatens to cut off a vital source of income for Griffin and his clique.
Under Griffin transparency has not been a feature of BNP accounting. How ironic that increasing secrecy at a local level, and a growing reluctance to allow the party nationally access to local financial details, could create such difficulties for Griffin!
I promise that I've nearly finished. Just one more submission to round it all off, and tidy a few loose ends. Many thanks for your patience and all your kind observations.
- That it is money sourced from "dodgy" places - impermissible donors; overseas sources (contrary to electoral law?); or other questionable practices.
- Incompetence - with the BNP it has to be the likeliest answer!

A Broadclyst mother is taking drastic action to protect her children from far-right influence after the local Express and Echo newspaper revealed the British National Party held a secret rally at Broadclyst Victory Hall, near Exeter.
They claimed that around 100 BNP members went to the covert meeting along with controversial party leader Nick Griffin, though it's difficult to see how a meeting with 100 attendees could be covert.
The Broadclyst resident, who was scared of being named, said her "primary concern" was the involvement of youth club leader Colin Fribbens, who helped organise the BNP gathering. She will no longer allow her children to attend the youth club or go out without direct supervision.

Phil Wilson, MP for Sedgefield, recently visited the Majdanek concentration camp in Poland as part of a cross-party Parliamentary group. Here, he reveals his experiences – and explains why it strengthened his stance against the BNP.
Unlike Treblinka, Majdanek is not hidden away in a forest, or like Dachau behind a high wall. Majdanek was built metres from the city of Lublin, where people could see and hear what was happening. Children, walking past the barbed wire fence on the way to school could see the prisoners making their way to the gas chambers.
The crematorium still stands on a hill overlooking Lublin, where 40,000 Jews once lived. A Jewish community had lived in Lublin since the 14th Century. In 1944, that history came to an end. The Nazis had murdered them all.
Majdanek is a sorrowful place. 500,000 people from 28 countries, including US, British and Soviet POWs passed through the camp. 360,000 perished. One prisoner called Majdanek the “Kingdom of Death”, where death reigned and life was slaughtered. As we walked round the camp, with its rows of wooden huts, each once holding hundreds of slave workers sharing their foul mattresses with typhus and cholera, we saw the small, but once efficient, gas chambers.
Then the journey took us to the crematorium with the autopsy table. All victims were ordered to hand over valuables as the arrived at the camp. Many were reluctant.
There are records of people swallowing wedding rings or other personal mementos. If spotted, they were murdered by the SS; their bodies taken to the autopsy room, their remains cut open and their valuables removed. Like many of those murdered at Majdanek, their bodies would be cremated and their ashes used as fertiliser.
When the camp was liberated by the Russians, heaps of human ashes were found all around the crematorium ready to spread over open fields. The Russians collected the ashes and eventually placed them under the cover of a giant dome: a mausoleum to the dead. Beyond the mausoleum is a field. In 1943, the order was given to exterminate the remaining Jews in the area. Over November 3rd and 4th 1943, the SS shot dead 42,000 people. The slaughter took place in the field before me. The massacre at Majdanek was the worst ever recorded.
I find it impossible to understand how anyone could do this. But they did, and in other parts of the world they still do. As I write, Radovan Karadzic, the ex-Serbian leader, faces trial for crimes against humanity. At least he will have a fair trial. The victims of genocide never do.
The day I returned, a town council by-election was held in Newton Aycliffe, in my constituency. The BNP were standing. The BNP’s founding father, John Tyndall, said Hitler’s Mein Kampf was his “bible”. The present leader, Nick Griffin, has denied the Holocaust ever happened. He does so because if you can convince someone to deny the undeniable, you can convince that person to believe anything. If the past can be denied, history can be rewritten and ultimately repeated.
I left the country where Nazis perpetrated the most profound crimes against humanity to see them seeking election on the streets of Newton Aycliffe.
Last year I visited Auschwitz. The BNP compared the death camp with “Disney World”. Unlike a pleasure park, I never want to visit Auschwitz or Majdanek again. But until the echoes of Nazism are defeated on the streets of my constituency, and elsewhere, I know I will have to.
Mr Wilson’s visit was facilitated by the Holocaust Educational Trust and the All-Party Group against Anti-Semitism.

BNP festival and protestors cause businesses and residents a headache

Business owners and residents living near the site of a BNP festival fear the event will cause major disruption.
The controversial Red, White and Blue festival will take place on fields off Condor-Denby Lane, Denby, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Police have invoked special public order laws in an effort to keep the number of anti-BNP protesters who plan to come to the area on Saturday down to 700. But an anti-BNP activists' march and rally will mean Codnor's only car park, its Market Place, and a main road will close. And people living by the site in Denby fear noise and violence and are angry at footpath closures.
The protesters' march, which will travel along the A6007 Heanor Road to its junction with Codnor-Denby Lane, means some shops will close. Richard Walker, owner of Tantastic salon, said: "I will probably close. I wish there was no festival and no protesters because we are going to lose money."
Aileen Tilley, whose costume shop Fancy That is opposite Codnor car park, in High Street, said she would close. She said: "We will lose money. The police told me they couldn't tell me directly to close but I'm going to."
Residents in Denby said they hoped Red, White and Blue would not return next year. John Lumsden, who lives opposite the festival site in Codnor-Denby Lane, said he would feel like "a prisoner in his home" over the weekend. Mr Lumsden, 65, said: "They've closed five footpaths in the area which I use to walk my mongrel dog, Dez, and to get about. Why should something we haven't asked for affect us in this way?"
Joe Osborne, 69, of Breach Road, said: "We feel like all this has been forced upon us."
Once police estimate that 700 activists have turned up on Saturday, new arrivals will be asked to disperse and could be arrested if they refuse. They will meet at 9am in Codnor Market Place and will be allowed to march from 11.45am. The A6007 Heanor Road will be closed. A protest point will be set up outside the festival for up to 30 protesters from 1pm to 4pm.
After the march is over, the remaining protesters will return to the Market Place for a rally. Coaches carrying protesters will be told by police to park in High Holborn Road. A police spokesman said: "The procession will be marshalled and accompanied by police officers. We are trying to minimise the effect of the festival on local residents."
More than 1,000 anti-BNP activists had been expected to turn up on Saturday. But police can limit the number using the Public Order Act.

A conspiracy revealed and more sackings and purges to come after the BNP's EGM

Here we are again, on the run-up to another Red, White and Blue disaster, with the BNP in disarray and Nick Griffin's leadership looking at its rockiest since the heady days of December 2007, when Sadie Graham and co were booted unceremoniously out of the party amid allegations of email-tampering and back-stabbing that led (eventually) to Manchester Civil Court, though not to any kind of resolution.
Following the December rebellion, when dozens of party activists stood down in support of the Graham clique, there were plans to get rid of Griffin flying about all over the place - talks of a new party, leadership challenges, legal challenges etc - all of which came to naught as the rebels failed to provide the leadership that the rebels and their supporters so desperately needed. Instead, Colin Auty, little known inside the party except for his 'music', pushed incessantly by the failing Great White Records, was persuaded to stand in a pointless leadership campaign, doomed to failure even if it had managed to get off the ground - which it didn't.
This utterly pointless challenge by Auty has inevitably brought Griffin's paranoia to a head and has led directly to his much-publicised attempt to twist the rules of the party to stop leadership challenges being annual and make them quadrennial or at the very least, biennial, thus cutting down on his chances of losing his lucrative post with its almost endless potential for money-making scams at the expense of a gullible membership. The RWB will see an Extraordinary General Meeting take place which will change the face of the BNP and consolidate Griffin's position until he can (as he fully expects to) join the gravy-train of the European Parliament next year without having to worry about distractions like Colin Auty popping up out of nowhere.
This EGM is a direct result of the failure of the Challenge for Leadership rebel team to provide proper leadership when it was most needed, whether inside the party or out. Sadie Graham was extremely well-placed to form a new party immediately following her sacking, to stand against the corruption and financial mismanagement that is endemic in Griffin's BNP but she and her team chose, for some incomprehensible reason that eluded most of her supporters, to continue to give her direct support to the existing BNP - though a BNP without the likes of Griffin, the notoriously-arrogant Mark Collett and bumbling idiot Dave Hannam, both of the latter being much-loathed even within the party itself.
Graham's partner Matt Single, former member of the BNP's security team and an unwitting stooge in another of Griffin's scams (this time to teach people evasive and defensive driving just in case someone attempts to kidnap them - for a fee, naturally), who writes as 'Integrity' on the rebel's Challenge for Leadership blog, has taken centre-stage in the fight against Griffin, banging on incessantly and impotently about how bad he is at running the BNP and how corrupt he is - but this appears to be anger that's still simmering away at the treatment he and Graham received from his former comrades in the security team, who raided the Single/Graham home with the willing help, it has emerged, of Nina Brown - a former friend who had been angling to step into Graham's job, or something similar, for some time. With friends like that, who the hell needs enemies.
Yes, folks, there is NO loyalty to one's friends in the BNP. All this rubbish about the party being one big happy family or like a community is, as you suspected, bullshit pumped out by the ton via the speeches and publications with which the BNP relentlessly showers its membership.
You may recall that the story that did the rounds following the raid was that Griffin's henchmen (Martin Reynolds, who we hear is for the chop next, and his fellow Kray brothers, sorry, security team members) were outside the Graham home, having gone there to reclaim items that were actually owned by the BNP (or so they claimed). Much to their surprise, ho-ho, neither Graham nor Single were at home. While pondering what to do, who should appear but Nina Brown, a then friend of the couple and handy keyholder for when they were away and the cat needed to be fed, who let the security gorillas in to take the goodies.
The truth has now begun to emerge and it turns out to be quite different. In fact, the whole event was stage-managed by Nick Griffin with the collusion of Nina Brown and Reynolds' security team. It was known that Graham and Single were off to attend the South East Christmas social (along with Griffin himself) that weekend - they all knew that - so Reynolds and a team made up of heavies from Leeds and Birmingham met up on the motorway, travelled to Brinsley and arranged to meet with Nina Brown who opened the front door for them and watched as they took the PC (which didn't belong to the BNP), the laptop, a mass of paperwork, printers and so on, piled it into the vehicle and shoved off. And why the need to do all this surreptitiously? Because Single is a thug and if he'd been on the premises, particularly with a pregnant Sadie Graham getting all hot and bothered over what was happening, he'd have caused something of a ruckus which might have done the party even more damage in the long run.
Nick Griffin has no sense of loyalty, even to those who devote themselves to him and/or the party. For years, Graham and Single helped Griffin to hold his position at the top of the BNP and did nothing except remain loyal to him while others were purged, expelled or forced to resign. Then it was their turn and they went the same way. Martin Reynolds has followed Griffin around for years, waddling beside him like an overweight but faithful dog, ready to plod into action should one of his many enemies take a baseball bat to Griffin. And now we hear that Reynolds is on his way out. Nina Brown, who has already earned herself a reputation as an utterly useless parish councillor, is also rumoured to be out of favour and on her way out of the party. And thus is loyalty rewarded in Nick Griffin's BNP.
Even worse is to come. We hear from reliable sources that the EGM is rigged to produce the result that Griffin wants (no great surprise there), postal voting is now allowed, despite (or perhaps because of) the BNP's repeated claim that postal vote fraud is both easy and common, and that those who vote against Griffin's proposals will soon find themselves out on their communal ear.
So no change there then.
