Nick Griffin the mortgage broker? Just what precisely IS the BNP now?

What precisely is the BNP? Your guess is as good as ours but now it's rapidly becoming a money-grubbing national joke! First it was secondhand cars, then the fake church and union, then it was life insurance, swiftly followed by double-glazing and skip hire - though that's ignoring all the little bits and pieces on the way like the BNP's invisible though expensive bus and the radio station that never was - and now it has entered the (it hopes) lucrative mortgage market.

The British National Party, rapidly becoming the most financially-inept and patently desperate organisation in the known universe, has branched out into trying to flog you a mortgage for that dream home of yours - or rather to act as it planned to act with Albion Life - to sell you a mortgage via some other company and take a broker's fee for doing nothing except setting up a web site and finding the sucke - customers.

The BNP's new attempted rip-off, the quaintly-named Avocado (thick-skinned, slimy inside and with a heart of stone) Mortgages appears to be working through a company named David Boulton Mortgage Solutions who apparently have an office at 28 West Road, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, Wales, CF31 4HD.

Curiously, or perhaps not, this appears to be the same David Boulton of Financial Solutions Unlimited in Bridgend who was associated with the BNP's failed venture into life insurance, the laughably short-lived Albion Life. David Boulton appears to be a busy boy - he's also listed as David Boulton & J. Saunders (Mortgages), Victoria Chambers, 7 Dunraven Place, Bridgend, Vale Of Glamorgan, CF31 1JF, Tel: 01656 664006. Whether this is the same David Boulton is uncertain but it seems unlikely that a smallish place like Bridgend is awash with David Boultons, all involved in mortgages and/or financial advice.

Readers may recall that Albion Life made a very big thing of being involved with the British National Party, clearly hoping that supporters would sign up and leave their insurance to the party when they finally pegged it. Avocado though - obviously having learned a valuable lesson from its predecessor, doesn't mention the BNP at all, which might not actually be fraud as far as the law is concerned, but certainly seems like it.

Once again - following the process it used with Albion Life - the BNP tries to give the impression that it is Avocado who is doing all the work, when in fact it's the real broker, David Boulton (and possibly his business partners Craig Francis and Brian John Howcroft). In a section on the website headed 'Why Avocado?', the party/company gives us this incoherent nonsense;

'Avocado Mortgages can help power charge your finances, releasing equity tied up in your property or help get you on the first rung of the property ladder.
  • To treat our customers fairly and with honesty and integrity in a courteous manner at all times.
  • To offer our professional yet personal service to our customers in a speedy manner.
  • To endeavour to recommend the most suitable lenders and products to satisfy customer needs, using the whole market place.
  • To provide our customers with all the relevant information required during the process and to ensure that customers fully understand the information.
  • To endeavour to make prompt contact with new clients to start our advice process as soon as possible, ensuring that the client is able to speak to an experienced advisor.'
Which rather gives the impression that it is Avocado doing the business and not someone else entirely.

David Boulton, or at least the David Boulton who was associated with Albion Life and is now associated with Avocado, doesn't seem to be too bothered about what the public thinks of his connections with the British National Party but one wonders about the building societies whose trademarks appear all over the Avocado site without, we suspect, a single permission being asked for, implied or granted. These include the following companies:

Cheltenham and Gloucester
Alliance and Leicester
Portman Building Society
Northern Rock
Abbey
Nationwide
Yorkshire Building Society
Scarborough Building Society
Norwich and Peterborough Building Society
Mutual Matters
Skipton Building Society

Well, we'll have to check that out with their head offices and see what they say. Feel free to find the Head Office address for each of them on the internet and complain with us...

But that's not all. Behind the Avocado Mortgages site, there is another one hiding away, also registered to Steve Blake, the registrant of the BNP site, Avocado, Albion Life, the Skip Hire Registry, the Christian Council of Britain and Brightahomes (double-glazing) - Avocado Finance. One wonders what plans are afoot for this fake company's future.

Quite what the BNP's next money-making venture will be who knows, but what's the betting it will be another one of Nick Griffin's rubbishy get rich quick schemes that'll not only fall at the first hurdle but end up costing the party a fortune, all paid for out of the membership money. Leadership challenges notwithstanding, you do have to wonder how long the membership will keep its patience with this simple-minded buffoon.

(Note: Thanks to Denise, who first spotted Avocado and passed the info along)

Jesus Christ this is even more of a bad joke than the attempted life insurance scam. Who the hell would allow the BNP within fiften miles of their mortgage? That opportunist bastard Nick Griffin should be banged up and the key dropped down the nearest drain.

If I was a member of the bnp I would resign in disgustat all this crap.Solidarity and now this The party seems to be in meltdown

Well that's made me want to rush out and buy a house just so the BNP can rake in a few quid!

Fuck the BNP membership. It's got the leader and organisation it deserves.

"What precisely is the BNP?"

A collection of customers and unwitting sales staff, who mistakenly believe they are in an organisation whose primary purpose is to obtain power and change government policy. In fact the primary purpose of the organisation is to provide a living for the leader.

The British Movement of the 1960's, the National Front of the 1970's and the BNP on the 1990's were ALL the John Tyndall party or rather the John Tyndall pension scheme...and NOTHING MORE!

Perhaps as a BNP member you do not agree?

Then ask yourself why 'Spearhead' was the private magazine of John Tyndall and sold largely to BM, NF and BNP members/supporters? Why were the profits and the ownership of the magazine not party property?

Because the members were just a list of subscribers, that's why!

BNP members who read this blog just have to wake up and stop deceiving themselves, or the next leader will be just another manipulative, money grabbing shyster.

Not terribly polite perhaps but I certainly agree with the sentiment.

Love the picture that goes with the article. That's a good job on both of them.

Avocados? Aren't they from abroad? This is disgusting - the BNP should be promoting indiginous British fruit n veg. Turnips & cabbages spring to mind :-)

Just a note, if old cockeyed Griffo is doing a swindle, and not delcaring profits and accounts from this venture, and paying taxes including VAT, the Financial Services Authority might like to know.

The dodgy-geezer Del Boy BNP might escape the wrath of the Electoral bodies, when failing to submit accounts, but they couldn't buy off the FSA or the taxman......

Del-boy Griffin? Yeah, that sounds about right. He might have a pisspoor degree but he still looks like a barrer-boy.

I pointed this out to a friend of mine who seems to think the BNP are not as bad as theyre painted and he refused point blank to read it on the grounds that its the press and we all know they lie all the time. For fucks sake, theres no helping some people.

Some people still believe the Earth is flat.

And some people still believe in Socialism...that it somehow helps the poor...when all it does is remove the difference between rich and poor and not actually improve the lot of the poor. But there's no helping some people, is there?

JT was never in the British Movement - that was Colin Jordan and Michael MacLoughlin. Never made much of a living for them, either, as most money went into the party (what little money there was).

NF in the 70's ended up as a fight over money, Webster (now trying to be so holier-than-thou) being the main culprit.

BNP under JT could hardly be described as a penion fund. It generated next to zero money, and probably cost JT more than he got out of it. Spearhead was always a private magazine, hardly a gold-mine. And of course those who subscribed to it were a list of subscribers - same applies to all magazines!

The anonymous who put JT in the same bracket as NG is obviously not aware of any of the facts about either of these men. BNP (and parties before that) were not the JT pension fund, but they were a massive boost to his ego. The BNP under NG (and the NF, Third Way and such like before that) exist solely to provide NG with ready access to monay - any soothing of his ego is purely a by-product.

JT was always a big fish in a small pond, and he was happy to pay to keep that pond alive; NG wants a big pond, so that he can drain it of money and when no more money is available, he will decamp, waste it on stupid and ill thought-out business deals, then start again. Being leader has very little to do with being in charge, or seen to be in charge, as with JT, and everything to do with sifting money into his own sweaty little paws.

His wife, however, just loves being thought of as important - it runs a close second to the money for her.

You want to debate socialism, go away and do it somewhere else instead of trying to change the subject here, We're talking about the shyster Griffin, the corrupt BNP and the fake mortgage broker Avocado.

Sounds like you've got it well sussed, John. Thanks for writing and making your point. If you fancy expanding on your comments in any way, email us on lancaster.uaf@zen.co.uk

I emailed all the building societies I could and got this back today

"I write in reference to your comments you made via our website regarding our logo appearing on www.avocadomortgages.co.uk

I completely understand your concern at finding our logo on the referenced site.

The site and its owners have no permission to use our logo and have no connections with Nationwide. I would like to confirm that we are taking this matter very seriously and have contacted the site owners to ensure they remove any reference to Nationwide.

This matter is currently being dealt with by our legal department.

I would like to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention."

Well worth the effort! :-)

Well done Dave. I got a reply from one of the companies I wrote to just a couple of minutes ago.

'Thank you for your email dated 27 June. I am concerned to hear of the information you have provided us with regarding the use of the Society's Logo.

I can confirm that I am currently investigating the situation...'

Get writing people. The more awkward we make it for the BNP, the sooner we can wave goodbye to its latest business failure.

I've had a response from Yorkshire Building Society and their legal dept are investigating

Can we keep a list of the companies approached and their responses.

The whole Far right is there just to make capitalism.Skinhead bands on the far right make a fortune these days.Theres alot of bnp officials that frequent these places.Also there is always a paste table recruiting for the bnp at these gigs.
If the bnp ever got into power,the rich white people would live in gated communities.The poor white people who helped the bnp get there would be outside the gate with immigrants assylum seekers etc.
The bnp is for mostly rich white people {actually the whole far right}
John bean wrote a article in {identity april edition} titled white trash.According to John Bean and eddy butler{who also commented on the article} White people on benefits are just white trash.Eddy butler commented we as a country cannot afford to keep people on benefits{ this comes from a man who has spent his entire adult life on benefits and only stopped claiming benefits when he was given a job by nick griffin.}
I don't know how working class white people can still cling to the bnp.Comments such as council estate scum are common at meetings.

Good idea, John P. I've just had another from Norwich and Peterborough Building Societ saying they're going to sort it. Keep up the pressure people.

@John Wright
Interesting though not entirely unexpected response there. It shows them up as the thugs they really are. Feel free to lambast them as much as you want through the blog. :-)

Lloyds who own the C+G building society are not too chuffed and have passed on the info about their logo being used to their internet investigation team and the Scarborough building society laughed and thought I was on a wind up, now they have seen the links and the website they are not to happy and are looking at legal action.
I've got bugger all to do on Monday and Tuesday so if we can get a list together of the other companies that need informing I'm happy to do it

@John P
You're doing a fine job there. Keep us up to date (and thanks for the work you're putting in).

Please everyone contact these companies by phone, email, whatever and let them know that the BNP are trying to legitimise themselves by using other people's trademerks. Let's get this fake business kicked before it really gets started.
