The cheap and nasty party...

17 Comment (s)
A couple of our readers have pointed out that the BNP is currently advertising on its website for someone to fill the role of Group Support/Training Officer. Nothing wrong with that, of course, though we would have expected the party to have invested in a new member of staff who actually knew their way around a set of accounts, or possibly someone who could get reasonably close to winning a by-election. Still, it's not for us to wonder why - just to take the piss. And we can do this by taking a closer look at the advert, which looks like it has been cobbled together by someone with too much spare time, an overwhelming sense of their own importance and the mistaken belief that plagiarising whole sections of the ad from another website would never come to light because they are a management guru. Yes, it looks like Jim Dowson has been in action again, doing whatever it is that he does for the BNP in the cheapest way possible in order to maximise his own profits.

There's actually nothing wrong with the ad itself, though it's a tad verbose. Most job descriptions tend to be padded out with all kinds of nonsense which in theory relate to the job but in practice are just buzzwords and phrases to make it sound good within a corporate environment. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with that, and most personnel officers use this kind of language as a matter of course - but it doesn't come naturally from the BNP or anyone I've ever heard from the party. So where has it been pinched from?

Well, as it happens, we know. There is a group called Businessballs which provides 'free online learning for careers, work, management, business training and education', among other things. If you ever wondered where Dowson got his expertise at business or even where Lee Barnes picks up his sometimes surprisingly lucid notes on employment law, you've found the source. And it will come as absolutely no surprise at all to be told that while the BNP is happy to plagiarise a good deal of Businessballs' text for its advert, it's a little coy about acknowledging Businessballs' copyright.

So where is the evidence that the BNP's ad-writer has plagiarised? Mostly not until the profile of the new employee is discussed in the ad. See below:

The BNP's plagiarised advert (click on image to enlarge)
It's worth comparing the two sections because the BNP has lifted most of its ad verbatim from Businessballs - particularly the Specific Job Skills, Computer Skills and the Literacy and Numeracy sections.

The contents of the Businessballs page is provided free, and a bloody good resource it is, but the site owner, one Alan Chapman, clearly states that,
'The use of this webpage is free provided copyright (see below) is acknowledged and reference or link is made to the www.businessballs.com website. Elsewhere, in a more explicit statement of the copyright for the site, Alan Chapman says,
'Reproduction of Businessballs materials online (internet or intranet) for any purpose requires permission.'
Naturally, the BNP, not even granting an author his own acknowledgement, has chosen to ignore this notice and we feel that this should be brought to the author's attention. BNP describes gay politicians as 'buggers and criminals'

8 Comment (s)
A list on the British National Party's website of politicians from all three main parties describes a number of gay MPs as "buggers" and "criminals", grouping them with convicted paedophiles.

The list, titled "Liars, buggers and thieves", features Labour MP Chris Byrant, who had semi-nude photos of himself from Gaydar published by a tabloid newspaper several years ago.

The website states: "Chris Bryant poses in his pants on the Internet to advertise himself for casual gay sex encounters. Describes himself as 'Horny as buggery' and says, 'I’d love a good long fuck'”.

Another MP listed as a "criminal" is MP Ron Davies, who was mugged at knifepoint after meeting a man on Clapham Common. He had allegedly been cruising for gay sex. Also listed is MP Clive Betts, who was suspended from parliament for seven days in 2003 after breaching the MPs' code of conduct over the employment of his Brazilian assistant.

They are listed beside rapists, paedophiles and murderers. Neither Mr Davies, Mr Bryant or Mr Betts have ever been convicted of any criminal offence.

The list of Labour politicians also includes mass murderer Dennis Nielsen, who was convicted of strangling and dismembering 16 young men. Nielsen was apparently included for his activism in Labour fringe groups such as the Anti-Nazi League. Others are local councillors and activists convicted of sexual offences, assaults and fraud.

The list was compiled by Julian Leppert, the BNP councillor for Redbridge Borough. He wrote: "A favourite trick of liberal-leftwing interviewers when losing an argument with BNP spokesmen is to start banging on about 'BNP criminals'. Well … this really isn’t a very honest thing to do when not mentioning the fact that a very small number of BNP criminal records (mainly the result of political persecution, self-defence against leftist thugs and youthful stupidity now twenty years or more in the past) need to be put into the context of the far worse, more numerous and more recent crimes of many members of the old parties."

Mr Leppert told PinkNews.co.uk that the gay MPs were been included because: "It fits in with the headline, the bugger part, I guess."

On Mr Byrant's Gaydar controversy, he said: "It's not a crime legally, but it's a crime morally. Homosexuality is part of life, it's inevitable. But people should have discretion. They're bringing political life into disrepute, although it might not strictly be criminal."

When asked why Mr Bryant, Mr Davies and Mr Betts, who have not been convicted of any criminal offence, were included as "criminals", he said: "It's probably not strictly true, not in terms of correct English, but it demonstrates what sort of people they are. It's a valid point. It's part of the general behaviour. It's the indiscretion with which [Bryant] promotes his homosexuality.

"The only problem we have with the gay lobby is when people like Peter Tatchell get aggressive about it. What people do in their private lives is their business. But the problem is when they get militant and start promoting it in schools. We're a family party with family values. Someone else at the BNP put the title 'Liars, buggers and thieves' on the story. It's a traditional catch-all term for people of disrepute in politics."

When asked for a comment by PinkNews.co.uk, Mr Bryant said: "The bigots who created this website should be ashamed of themselves. I would just call on the overwhelming majority of people who see the despicable nature of this website to tell their friends to make sure they vote in the European elections. Every vote cast for another party is one against the BNP.”

Mr Davies could not be reached for comment.

Today it was reported that postal workers are refusing to deliver BNP election leaflets because they object to its “right-wing rubbish”. Around 100 workers in the West Country have refused carry the leaflets, which bear an anti-immigration message.

The story grows in the telling

22 Comment (s)
The BNP was out in force last weekend in London in what was billed as the first of several national mobilisations in the run up to the London elections in May. However, every report seems to recall a slightly different story.

The first posting was made by Simon Darby on his blog when he reported on the Saturday night that almost 200 people had delivered 100,000 leaflets. Then there were reports on Stormfront on the Sunday that it was actually 250 people. Finally, today, the official BNP website reported 250 over the two days delivered 100,000 leaflets. However, the accompanying photograph of the massed ranks of the party faithful shows just 63 people, and that’s probably being generous.

So the question is who is telling the truth? If one believes Darby then the extra 50 people did not hand out a single leaflet. If the explanation is that the extra 50 people came out on the Sunday then they obviously didn’t hand out a single leaflet.

Searchlight believes that they are all lying. We admit that several wards were covered but the total number of people was considerably fewer than the 250 boasted and only about 35,000 leaflets were distributed.

Of course we shouldn’t expect anything more from the BNP. The event, after all, was just as much for his internal audience to prove that he still has a following. It was also organised by Richard Barnbrook, who recently claimed 25,000 leaflets were delivered in Lewisham shortly before Christmas though the real figure was less than a quarter.

The BNP is asked again - where has all the money gone?

8 Comment (s)
More stories emerge of financial impropriety at the BNP in run-up to leadership challenge...

Whose business? Your business…

The BNP owns several companies paid for with BNP members' cash, yet no branches or groups have EVER profited from these businesses. The legal structure of these companies and some of its hidden directors means branches and groups will NEVER profit from them.

What are those businesses?

1, GWR ‘Great White Records’

It was stated at an AC meeting that more than £40,000 of membership money was poured into starting up GWR, but who owns it, and who profits?

I’m sure like many others you have purchased CDs from this company, but GWR has not only never donated to the BNP as it claims on its site, but it hasn’t filed accounts required by law for 2 years.

The original directors were Dave Hannam and John Walker. It was then switched to Dave Hannam and Nick Cass. Nick Cass resigned as director several months ago and as yet no one else has replaced him.

To check that the above is indeed fact, please go to Companies House and type ’Great White Records’ into the search box. This service is free from Monday to Friday, closed at weekends, and you must do your searches before midnight.

Check out the Electoral Commission and read the list of BNP donators and the party accounts. Where is the money?

2, Excalibur Promotions Ltd

Liquidated over 4 years ago owing more than £150,000. The directors are hidden, but we know Chris Beverly runs it. No money has ever been donated to the BNP by Excalibur. Feel free to check the donor list at the electoral commission website. BNP members spend their money with Excalibur, why is none donated to the BNP?

Many thanks to the BNP member who provided the cheque showing that this company is still trading while in liquidation. Isn’t that illegal?

If Excalibur isn't Excalibur Promotions Ltd, why is it cashing Excalibur Promotion cheques?

To check that the above is FACT, go to the companies house website

3, RWB Red White & Blue

Known in some circles as Griffin's three-ring circus where members are supposed to feel so happy to be part of the crowd that they part with huge amounts of cash and spend weeks preparing stalls where they mostly make a loss, and usually from their own pockets.

It is a fact that Griffin plays down the RWB as a money earner and AC members are always instructed to state it makes a loss, it doesn’t. RWB usually brings in a profit in excess of £30,000 and any stall owners who are deemed to make a large profit are supposed to hand some over to the party. Last year £6,000 was raised on beer alone, but the most interesting fact of last year was a notice put up by the Treasurer John Walker asking for ticket monies to be made payable to Freedom promotions Ltd, it was then quickly changed to make monies payable to British Heritage.

A BNP member investigated further and discovered that no company called Freedom Promotions Ltd exists. If it doesn’t exist how can the BNP ask for monies to be paid into it? In fact there were 4 companies opened and closed called Freedom Promotions Ltd, none of them ever traded, but bank accounts were gained using the company names. The BNP owns one of those accounts and above is a cheque that they paid into it. Once again it is illegal.

Thank you to the diligent BNP members for this evidence. Nicholarse must be horrified that you’re not all dummies.

4, The Trafalgar Club

Quotes from the BNP website.

“The Trafalgar Club is an elite fund-raising group. “

“Trafalgar Club members pledge a minimum subscription of £15 per month, in return for which they receive regular special internal bulletins, are invited to attend the annual Trafalgar Club dinner free of charge hosted by the party Chairman receive a Trafalgar Club tie (or a personalised organiser file in the case of ladies). The tie carries the first two 'words' of Nelson's semaphore signal before the Battle of Trafalgar: "England Expects." (Available in first year of membership only.”

“Contributing this way to the British National Party is a good investment for your future. You do not need to be a member of the British National Party to join the Trafalgar Club.”

Nicholarse Griffin has himself claimed that there are 400 Trafalgar Club members, and if you times that by the annual fee of belonging to this prestigious club which is £180, it adds up to £72,000 per year. Nowhere in the BNP accounts does it state any donations from the Trafalgar Club, nor is the Trafalgar Club listed as a donator to the BNP. No one knows how much money is donated separately at this annual event as nothing has ever been declared. The bank account holders of the Trafalgar Club are Nicholarse Griffin and his mother, Jean Griffin.

Last years Trafalgar Club dinner was meant to be a 4 course hot meal at the Waterton Park Hotel. When TC members arrived, some having done extremely long journeys to attend, they were greeted with a cold buffet of sandwiches. Nick Cass organiser of the event and BNP treasurer John Walker apologised to the 140 TC members present and explained that the Waterton Park Hotel had not only double booked, but were not used to catering for 140 guests.
Some incensed TC members contacted the hotel to complain, and the response from the management went thus

“The Waterton Park Hotel regularly caters for 140 guests providing 4 course hot meals, but the Trafalgar Club event was booked several months ago for sandwiches only. We apologise if you were disappointed, but the menu was pre arranged by the Trafalgar Club event organiser. We were not double booked”

TC members were clearly ripped off and lied to. Anyone else wishing to check the validity of the above should contact the Waterton Park Hotel.

This quote from the BNP site caught our attention:

"Is your country worth £3.46 a week? Are the futures of your sons and daughters worth the cost of a few chocolate bars? Join the Trafalgar Club today!"

AND WE SAY, WHERE IS THE MONEY?
