Hindus and Jews claim that Pope Benedict holds double standards on the issues of Roma (Gypsy) apartheid in Europe.
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed; and Rabbi Jonathan B. Freirich, prominent Jewish leader in Nevada and California in USA; in a statement in Nevada today, said that despite their repeated requests, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI had not come out openly to support the 15-million European Roma who faced apartheid conditions. But in a message for "19th World Day of the Sick, 2011", posted on Holy See's website on January 15, Pope says (as per Zenit.org translation): "...know how to recognize and serve him also in those brothers who are poor, sick, suffering and in difficulty, who have need of your help".
The Pope also points out in this message: "A society unable to accept its suffering members and incapable of helping to share their suffering and to bear it inwardly through 'com-passion' is a cruel and inhuman society". And he quotes in this message: "As I have loved you, so must you love one another" (John 13:34).
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, and Rabbi Freirich argued that it was a travesty to silently watch Roma suffer day after day for the last about 1200 years, and do nothing about it. Roma apartheid occurred right under the Pope's nose in Europe. Hindus and Jews had been regularly appealing to the Pope to openly support the Roma cause and come up with a White Paper on their plight, and yet the Pope continued to ignore these reasonable requests for justice in Europe for the Roma.
Rajan Zed and Rabbi Jonathan Freirich further said that the alarming condition of the Roma people was a social blight for Europe and the rest of the world as they reportedly regularly faced social exclusion, racism, substandard education, hostility, joblessness, rampant illness, inadequate housing, lower life expectancy, unrest, living on desperate margins, language barriers, stereotypes, mistrust, rights violations, discrimination, marginalization, appalling living conditions, prejudice, human rights abuse, and racist slogans on Internet.
The Pope needed to make a public statement against persecution of the Roma, Zed and Freirich added.
Rajan Zed and Rabbi Freirich pointed out that religions shared a conviction to help the helpless, defenseless and downtrodden. The Pope should recognize, acknowledge and affirm the Roma as children of God who deserved to be treated like all other people-as equals. Roma apartheid was shocking, reprehensible, hazardous and immoral. As the most powerful religious leader in the world, the Pope's must lead in upholding the moral obligation to make efforts to stop the frequent human rights violations suffered by Roma.
Hindu Rajan Zed and Jewish Jonathan Freirich offered help to the Pope, if asked, to support the Roma cause.

Incompetents reign as BNP staggers into the new year

An influential far-right activist has called for union between the UK Independence Party and British National Party in an attempt to whitewash the BNP’s racism and nazi past by hiding behind its larger, anti-EU rival.
Eddy Butler, who was expelled from the BNP after trying to challenge Nick Griffin to a leadership election last summer but remains an important figure on the extreme right, said in a message for the new year that a party that united the UKIP, BNP and the various smaller groups “on the patriotic, nationalistic, ‘right-wing’, populist, non-politically correct, identity-related side of the spectrum” would “have over 30,000 members” and “instantly be a major force in British politics”.
He recognises, however, that “it would take compromise” and “putting aside preconceived ideas about each other” – a reference to the BNP’s violence and extremism and the image of the UKIP as “Tory types” – and that “jealous personalities”, the biggest of whom is Griffin, will not let it happen.
Butler believes such a union would benefit the UKIP as it “would give them relevance” between European elections. For the BNP “it would provide respectability and distance form a more violent and hard-line past”.
According to Butler only a “tiny minority” in the UKIP “hate everything to do with the BNP”. However a spokesman for the UKIP told Searchlight “[Unity] is not going to happen. We reject the whole concept completely out of hand”.
The BNP meanwhile continues to demonstrate its incompetence and dictatorial nature. When Butler appealed against his expulsion, which he considers was “irregular” under the terms of the party constitution, he was told an appeal tribunal would be arranged for January.
This has now been denied. Knowing that Butler probably had a strong case, Andy McBride, the BNP’s South East regional organiser, decided that Butler was not entitled to a tribunal because he was only a “probationary member” with less than two years’ membership, despite the party’s earlier acceptance that he had the required five years’ continuous membership to stand for the leadership!
The basis for the decision by McBride, whom Butler describes as “ineffective and semi-literate” – so no different from most other party officers – is that Butler was 18 days late in renewing his membership in 2009. However he retained the same membership number and renewal date.
Griffin law
“I can recall a time in history, in another country, during the last days of a (ahem) controversial regime, when all sorts of decrees were sent forth from ‘ze bunker’ pronouncing severe punishments on those who were deemed to have transgressed”, wrote Butler. “The last twitches of a dying organism.”
Commenting on the way Griffin and the BNP keep changing the rules to suit themselves, Butler continued: I think Mr McBride believes in Griffin Law – that parallel legal system, a bit like Sharia Law. It would seem that I am to be further punished by ‘political admin’ (as opposed to a Sharia court).”
Mark Walker, described as the BNP’s political administration officer, clearly comes from the same stable. Responding to a letter of resignation from the party from Chris Francis, Walker wrote: “Clearly you have very negative feelings towards the Party and our membership and this would, in any case, likely have resulted in actions leading to disciplinary proceedings. Best to jump before you were pushed.”
Francis had done no more than express the widespread view that the party is “a cult dedicated to Nick Griffin … The BNP has lost very many decent people over the last couple of years and there are very few decent people left in the party now. The party is now festering with **** & yes men and I for one am glad to be gone,” he added.
Another demoralised former activist is Roy Jones, who was the party’s North East Scotland organiser until he resigned last month over “King Nick and his rotten corrupt regime”. Among his complaints are Griffin’s waste of hundreds of thousands of pounds in dragging the party through the courts and the party’s inability to conduct a leadership action “without resorting to hatefull [sic] smear campaings [sic] against the challenger (Eddy Butler) and suspending /expelling anyone who supported a challenge (myself included)”.
Jones claims that the BNP in Scotland “has been wrecked by the Sycophantic Mentally unstable liar” Gary Raikes, the party’s Scotland regional organiser. Like Butler, Jones points out that the party has still not produced its 2009 accounts, which were due six months ago. On 31 December Griffin wrote on Twitter: “Just finished my report to go with 2009 accounts which auditor says are now virtually ready”.
As Butler commented: “This person is congratulating himself on almost having the 2009 accounts ready when they should have been handed in before 7th July”. If the national and regional accounts are submitted after 7 January 2011, the party will be liable to £2,500 in fines. The record delay follows several declarations by Griffin and the party’s succession of treasurers that all the party’s financial functions were being run in a professional way with the sort of controls one would find in a multinational company.
Griffin’s statement contrasts with Butler’s revelation that the party’s independent auditors, Silver and Co, were still trying to verify with branch treasurers that the bank and cash balances in their local records were the same as the figures provided by the regional treasurer. Butler claims “they are massively out” and local treasurers are refusing to confirm the figures.
Staff not paid
The accounts are unlikely to reveal the full extent of the BNP’s current dire financial straits as much of Griffin’s reckless spending on legal actions and employment tribunals has occurred since 31 December 2009. The BNP is reported to have closed most of its offices and not paid party staff for two months, apart from Patrick Harrington, Griffin’s comrade from his National Front political soldier days, who now works for the party while still heading a rival group.
Life members are calling for a refund as they did not receive their four free copies of the party’s Identity magazine, which it cannot afford to print. A bequest of £65,000 received in September in the will of a supporter who appeared to have no family and friends probably went straight to lawyers to cover the BNP’s huge legal bills. Unfortunately a further £109,000 was due to follow from the same source.
Last month the Electoral Commission pronounced the BNP guilty of breaching electoral legislation by “failing to keep accounting records sufficient to explain, with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the party at the time”. The verdict followed a long investigation into the party’s 2008 accounts. However the BNP will suffer no penalty as the legislation, which has since been amended, did not allow for anything less than criminal proceedings against the treasurer at the time, who no longer holds the post.
Butler is calling for members not to fund Griffin by renewing, a turnaround from his previous position. Griffin is clearly feeling the pinch. At the party’s annual conference in December he admitted that the party had made mistakes and lost members. He appealed for them to return, claiming the party had moved on. Where the party has moved was revealed in Griffin’s speech at a dinner on the eve of the conference, in which he called for “increased militancy” against Islam. In attempt to revitalise the beleaguered party he promised it would “start acting as well as talking about protecting Britain”. The party is currently targeting a mosque planned for Bletchley.
The just over 100 people at the conference were also the first to see the BNP’s new logo, a heart-shaped cut-out from the Union flag. “This logo will illustrate exactly what this party is about,” said Griffin, incongruously describing it later as a “combination of innocence and love”. Others pointed out the similarities with a Conservative party emblem and Searchlight dubbed it the “broken heart”.
Some party members felt it was too soft and conflicted with Griffin’s call for street militancy. Griffin’s replied that the party still wanted to win elections and needed an image that would not “frighten the horses”.

Marine Le Pen 'chosen to lead France's National Front'

France's far right National Front has chosen Marine Le Pen as its new leader, replacing her father Jean-Marie Le Pen, party officials say.The results will be officially announced on Sunday, but party sources said she had secured about two-thirds of members' votes. Mr Le Pen is stepping down after leading the ultra-nationalist party, which he founded, for almost 40 years. In 2002 he came a shock second in the first round of presidential elections. Mr Le Pen lost the second round to incumbent Jacques Chirac.
A count of votes cast ahead of the annual FN congress in the central city of Tours showed Ms Le Pen, 42, who had the backing of her father, had easily beaten her rival, Bruno Gollnisch.
The FN, with its anti-immigration agenda has been shunned by France's main parties. But Ms Le Pen has said she wants to break with its xenophobic, anti-Islam image and is confident the FN can become part of mainstream politics. A recent poll suggested the party could come third in the presidential elections to be held in 2012.

British National Party leader forced to run from journalists' club debate

About 30 anti-fascists assembled at short notice after Unite Against Fascism (UAF) heard of Griffin’s invitation to the journalists' Frontline Club in Paddington, West London. The club was screening the More4 documentary, The Battle for Barking, about the election battle between Labour MP Margaret Hodge and the BNP during the May 2010 local elections.
It planned to follow this with a question and answer session featuring Griffin. Documentary director, Laura Fairrie, and Darren Rodwell, organiser of the Labour Party election campaign in Barking, were also invited to the event which was to be moderated by journalist Sarfraz Manzoor.
Anti-fascists had urged the club not to give a platform to Griffin, but they refused to withdraw his invitation. A determined protest confronted Griffin and his security team outside the venue.
Despite trying to force their way to the entrance of the club by attacking protesters and spraying them with an aerosol dye, Nazi Nick and his minders were forced back. Looking visibly shaken they briefly took refuge in a local hotel before fleeing the area entirely. The documentary showing went ahead without a platform for the BNP.

BNP loses deposit at Oldham

Another disaster strikes the ailing BNP, with the result of the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election continuing the consistently downward trend in its vote. The BNP polled just 1560 votes (just under 4.5%), which means the party can wave goodbye to yet another lost deposit, and was roundly beaten by UKIP (2029, or 5.8%), which will annoy pretty well everyone in the BNP.
It's worth remembering that Oldham was at one point an extremely important seat for the BNP - back in 2001 the party mustered up 11.2% and in the General Election last year they still managed to scrape together 5.7%. So what went wrong? Maybe it was the fact that the few local BNP activists left in Oldham refused to come out to support a candidate who had been foisted on them by Nick Griffin, who had already announced himself as a candidate only to back off rapidly when he realised how embarrassing (and likely) a low vote would be.
Or maybe it was the fact that Derek Adams, the BNP's candidate, is yet another bad-tempered, rude and arrogant shit along the lines of Lee Barnes (though probably not quite as insane). Certainly, Adam's behaviour at the hustings last week, where he took the stage and refused to leave until escorted off by the plods, didn't exactly endear him to the packed audience who booed him as he was hauled off.
Or maybe it's just that the BNP is crap and more people are realising it.
Labour: 14,718 (42.1%)
Lib Dems: 11,160 (31.9%)
Conservatives: 4,481 (12.8%)
UKIP: 2,029 (5.8%)
BNP: 1,560 (4.5%)
Green Party: 530 (1.5%)
Monster Raving Loony Party: 145 (0.4%)
English Democrats: 144 (0.4%)
Pirate Party: 96 (0.2%)
Bus Pass Elvis Party: 67 (0.1%)
It's just as well that many BNP members are delusional - no matter how you look at it, coming fifth and losing the deposit is not a good result. Or it isn't unless you're prepared to spin the result so much that reality doesn't get a look in. Here's a BNP supporter (Nick Griffin himself, I suspect) writing on the British Democracy Forum following the result being announced.
'Onwards and Upwards - Oldham was a good result for the BNP...With Nick Griffin standing we would undoubtedly have saved our deposit but he very selflessly stood aside for Derek, who with Clive's expert guidance fought a very good campaign...dig deep for the greater good of the party and for a just and noble cause...I'm sure genuine, loyal BNP members will join me in congratulating Nick, Clive and Derek, as well as everyone else who put it so much effort, on a fine result.'
Like I said, delusional.

This Time, The BNP Blow It In Oldham East & Saddleworth: Those Excuses In Full...

BNP 1,560 (4.4%)
As confidently predicted by everyone apart from the BNP's National Officer In Charge Of Making Stuff Up, the Saviours Of The Nation ™ have, yet again, failed to make any headway at all (and lost their deposit!) in a target seat.
“How could this have happened?” wail the disconsolate BNP Faithful of Oldham. “How could we fail yet again?”
And so the excuses begin...
There Was A Large Postal Vote
That Democracy's a sod, isn't it? Why, it's almost as though the LibLabCon Marxist BBC NWO Elite wanted to give people the chance to vote (for whoever they like, mind you!) in the comfort of their own homes, rather than queuing up at a draughty church hall to put their cross on the paper with the same stub of pencil on a bit of string they've been using since 1974.
It Was Raining
Doughty and steadfast your Oldham Nationalist may be: unfazed by taunts and untroubled by threats. The brightest flowering of our Nation's stouthearted spirit, equally ready to speak out against the myriad foes ranked against these islands as to take to the streets in protest at an injustice to a fellow Kinsman.
Unless it's raining. They hate it when it's spitting.
The Controlled Media Gave Hardly Any Coverage To The BNP Candidate
If only the Electorate had been given the chance to see Derek Adams displaying his statesmanlike demeanour, incisive grasp of political discourse and Shavian command of his mother tongue (or just seen him bang on, yet again, about how his pub being knocked down represented the most sinister exemplar of State Repression since the Stalinist Terror); that would've swung it. Oh yes. (Or, failing Derek Adams (as he will forever be known), we could at least have been treated to yet another sight of Griffin looking like the “before” bit in “The King's Speech”...)
The Nationalist Vote Was Split
I ask you; what's the point of having a democracy when any Tom, Dick & Harry can start up another so-called “Party” and get people to vote for them? It'd all be different if that nice Mr Griffin was in charge...
Massive Vote-Rigging Was To Blame
I suspect the operation by the LibLabCon Marxist BBC NWO Elite involved something as simple as this: After the polls close and the ballot boxes are sealed, they are driven at high speed to a secret depot, where dozens of handpicked lefty Council Staff (all of whom can be relied upon to remain silent about the whole affair until the day they die) lie in wait to open them, count every vote, filter out the ones for the BNP (the vast majority, I'll be bound), replace them with votes for the three (so-called!) “main” parties, reseal the boxes and drive them at breakneck speed to the “official” count. As we know from Barking & Dagenham, this entire operation would only have taken a few minutes. Bloody fast workers, those handpicked lefty Council Staff.
The Other Parties Had Billboards
Because, as anyone who knows anything about modern political campaigning will tell you, nothing, and I mean nothing, wins hearts and minds like a big poster of a fat bloke in a cheap suit leering like someone who wants to rape your cat. As amply proven in Barking and Dagenham.
Where Was The Truth Truck?
As a seasoned observer of Democracy's Rich Pageant, I can authoritatively say that nothing swings an election like a second-hand lorry with a poster and a loudspeaker. So where was it? No doubt there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. After all, Mr Griffin wouldn't raise thirty grand from his Members to buy a Brand New Lorry and then not use it at every available opportunity, would he?
People Voted For Other Parties
There's just no pleasing some people, is there? You give them a shabbily racist party run by a crook who would just as likely sell his own family for cosmetics testing as hand over the Accounts, putting up a candidate with all the polish, easy charm and quick-witted electoral nouse of Arthur Mullard on a particularly slow day, and STILL they won't vote for you.
What do they want? Real politics?
(Please Note: These same excuses may also be used for the forthcoming failure in Barnsley Central.)

The founder of the English Defence League (EDL) will no longer face a charge of assaulting a police officer.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has dropped the accusation against Stephen Lennon, 27, of Luton, Bedfordshire, after new evidence emerged. The CPS said Mr Lennon would now face an offence under the Public Order Act.
Mr Lennon was arrested as members of the Muslims Against Crusades group burned a poppy during a two-minute silence on Armistice Day in London. A police officer suffered a head injury during the clashes in Kensington, west London, as about 50 men linked to the EDL were kept away from the protesters. Five other people associated with the right-wing organisation were arrested and two Muslim protesters were held on suspicion of public order offences.
Two men, aged 30 and 26, have since been charged with public order offences and are due to go on trial later this year. The CPS and the Metropolitan Police were unable to say immediately if the remaining five would face charges. The CPS said Mr Lennon had not yet been formally charged with the new offence.
Mr Lennon described this potential new charge as being "out of a Christmas cracker" and said he would deny it. He said: "This is a joke, a farce. It completely shows they are trying to pin anything they can on me. I will plead not guilty to the public order. I was trying to prevent a crime of burning poppies. I was trying to do the police's job because they failed to keep the rule of law on the streets of London."
The Metropolitan Police said it would not be commenting on Mr Lennon's remarks.

EDL woos Canada's Jewish far right

The leader of the extreme right-wing English Defence League has urged members of a militant Jewish group in Canada to fight against Islam "for freedom".
Tommy Robinson appeared by video link at a Jewish Defence League Canada rally in Toronto on Tuesday night. He told the audience of around 50 JDL supporters that Canadians must "wake up" to the "Islamisation" of their country. Mr Robinson said: "We're fighting for our children, we're fighting for our freedom. Islam stands fundamentally against everything we stand for."
It is thought Mr Robinson was first introduced to Meir Weinstein, national director of JDL Canada, by a mutual acquaintance and the pair have since spoken by telephone. Mr Weinstein is believed to have been attracted by the EDL's support for Israel. Last year the EDL launched a "Jewish division", encouraging members of the community to "lead the counter-Jihad fight in England".
An EDL pro-Israel rally outside the Israeli Embassy in London in October was supported by American rabbi Nachum Shifren.
But the Canadian Jewish Congress said the JDL invitation to Mr Robinson was "disappointing". Bernie Farber, CJC chief executive, said: "Islamic fundamentalism is a real threat. But fighting it with generalised hatred against Muslims, as does the EDL, is only a recipe for fuelling more conflict. We join with all the leading British Jewish organisations in condemning the intolerance and violence that the EDL represents."
The JDL has links with the extreme-right Kach movement, founded in New York by Rabbi Meir Kahane in the 1970s.
Last month 27-year-old Mr Robinson - whose real name is Steven Lennon - expressed his intentions to link the EDL with groups in Europe and North America. He has previously supported controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders, leader of the anti-Islam Freedom Party.
Promoting the event, JDL Canada said: "The outrageous intimidation of Tommy Robinson is nothing more than a politically motivated crime on the part of the British establishment. They don't like the truth that he speaks because it contradicts establishment policy. His treatment at the hands of the state shows that the people of Britain are already living in a tyranny. The EDL needs international support to help it support the values of freedom that Britain was once famous for. Now is the time to step forward and stop Political Islam. The British establishment is following the appeasement policies of Neville Chamberlain. We must revive the Winston Churchill policy of direct confrontation."
The Toronto-based Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid campaigned against Tuesday's event, with around 30 anti-Israel groups signing an open letter denouncing the rally. Outside the venue a number of protesters were arrested as police on horseback attempted to control the demonstrations.

People ‘living in fear’ of EDL demo

Leading councillors have issued a desperate plea to the government ahead of the English Defence League march planned for Feburary 5, saying the event is likely to cause “serious disorder”.
The leaders of the local Labour, Tory and Conservative groups wrote to Theresa May on Friday, asking for her support should they choose to pursue a ban on the march. They said the image of Luton had suffered following the Stockholm suicide bombing by Luton man Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, and that forthcoming march had compounded the “negative media coverage”, causing “deep dismay and anxiety among the wider community in Luton – of whatever background, faith or outlook”.
Councillors Hazel Simmons, David Franks and Michael Garrett wrote: “We recognise that a ‘banning order’ on the EDL and counter demonstrators, would not prohibit them from holding a static demonstration. However a march is – in our opinion – provocative and not conducive to the public good at this time and would risk serious disorder. Further to this, the presence of the EDL processing through Luton has generated significant plans for visible and voluble counter-protests by other groups.”
The letter prompted the EDL to accuse the council of “trying to silence free speech and democracy”.
Spokesman Guramit Singh said he believed stopping the march would only cause more problems. He told the BBC: “When you ban marches you take away a key element of the demonstration and the logistics of the demonstration crumble and you get a lot of trouble.”
But Dr Fiaz Hussain from the Luton Council of Mosques said ordinary Muslims were “living in fear” at the prospect of the EDL coming back to the town. He said: “People are wondering what they have done to deserve this. Some people are living in very deprived areas and the last thing they want is groups coming to town and throwing abuse and hate around. People here just want to get on with their lives. My message to the EDL would be let’s sit round the table and talk about this. Let’s look at the grievances and see how we can address them.”
Other groups including Unite Against Fascism and the Muslim Defence League (MDL) are planning counter-protests on the day. A member of the MDL who contacted the Luton News said he was certain the EDL’s protest would turn violent, and that MDL members were aiming to “march peacefully, protect the Luton Asian community and to protect religious buildings”.

Police are hunting a gang of racist thugs who attacked and robbed a door-to-door salesman in Greater Manchester.
The victim, a 20-year-old Asian man, was working on the Limeside Estate, in Oldham, selling digital television products, on the afternoon of Wednesday 5th January when he was assaulted. He was working around Walkers Road, Oak Road and Firth Avenue but throughout the afternoon, a group of five white men were walking around the estate shouting racial abuse at the victim.
At about 6pm, on Hollins Road, the group approached the victim, grabbed him, racially abused him and demanded his mobile phone and cash. They pushed him against a wall and patted his body for items. As they tried to grab his mobile the victim resisted and he was punched twice to the head by one of the offenders, who then intimated he had a knife. The group ran off with the phone.
The main offender in the group was about 5ft 6in tall of medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a lime green hooded top.
Police Constable Andrew Swettenham said: "This was a horrendous experience for this man, who was simply trying to do his job. The abuse that he suffered culminated in an attack where he was robbed. Someone on this estate will know who these people are and may even have witnessed this incident."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9577 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Gunman may have white supremacist link

The gunman who shot a US congresswoman in the head might have links to a US white supremacist group that has hosted the British National Party leader.
The US Department of Homeland Security is investigating whether Jared Loughner, who has been charged over the attack, in which six people died and 13 were wounded, was connected with the racist and antisemitic organisation American Renaissance.
Founded in 1991, American Renaissance, which holds biennial conferences, is dedicated to propagating the pseudo-scientific “research” of racial and racist scientists obsessed by a belief in the innate mental and moral inferiority of blacks to whites. The conference is a central event for white nationalists, neo-nazis, Klansmen and Holocaust deniers, who form a large part of the audience.
It also produces a newsletter of the same name, edited by its founder and conference organiser Jared Taylor, which focuses on the discredited subject of racial science and argues repetitively that blacks are genetically inferior to whites. It described the recent success for the Republican party during the US mid-term elections as the “great white wave”, a view that corresponds with Taylor’s “clear conception of the United States as a nation ruled by and for whites”.
Nick Griffin featured on the list of speakers for last February’s American Renaissance conference, where he was hoping to celebrate his election as an MEP with an address entitled “Victory against all odds”. However the conference was cancelled after four successive hotels cancelled bookings.
Taylor had also hoped to bring over the BNP ideologue and website editor Arthur Kemp, author of the monumental racist tome March of the Titans, but Kemp was unavailable.
It was not Griffin’s first invitation. In 2002 he spoke on “Nationalist Movements and the Crisis of the Liberal Elite”. In 2006, fresh from his acquittal at Leeds Crown Court, he opened the conference with a 45-minute speech entitled “What is left of free speech in Britain”, in which he attacked Britain’s “bastardised, mongrelised democracy” and told delegates “we have had enough of this ghastly multiracial experiment that has been forced upon us”. He concluded: “people are going to be killed before we de-Islamify Europe”.
Afterwards Griffin spent time networking with racists such as Don Black, the former Alabama Ku Klux Klan leader who now runs the world’s largest white supremacist website under the slogan “white pride, world wide”.
This year American Renaissance has invited Jonathan Bowden, the former BNP “cultural officer”, to address the restaged ninth conference in North Carolina early next month. Bowden remains a regular speaker at BNP events despite his leading role in the New Right group led by the former National Front “political soldier” Troy Southgate.
At a New Right meeting last October Bowden sang the praises of the infamous nazi Savitri Devi. A close associate of the British nazi leader Colin Jordan and the US nazi leader Lincoln Rockwell, Devi was one of the founders of the World Union of National Socialists in 1962 and wrote a number of books that hardline national socialists and pagan mystics see as the ultimate expression of their world view.
Devi, who died in England in 1982, visited Germany after Hitler’s fall in 1945 to expound his beliefs and was imprisoned by the British occupation authority. She spent time with SS prisoners and tried to facilitate their escape but failed. Her ashes were carried to the headquarters of the US nazi party by Tony Williams, an old colleague of Griffin and leader of the National Socialist Movement, the group that encouraged David Copeland to embark on his terror bombing spree in London in 1999.
American Renaissance has denied any knowledge of Loughner. “No one by the name of Loughner has ever been a subscriber to American Renaissance or has ever registered for an American Renaissance conference,” Taylor stated yesterday. He went on to deny, improbably, that his organisation was racist and antisemitic.
However its mission statement repeats the standard racist claim that white people are suppressed. “One of the most destructive myths of modern times is that people of all races have the same average intelligence,” it reads. “Racial loyalty or racial consciousness is normal and healthy. All non-white groups instinctively pursue their own interests, and legitimately so. It is only whites who have been taught that it is immoral to take even the most basic steps to ensure their survival.”
