Why this conference?In October Nottinghamshire Stop the BNP showed that it is possible to stop the British National Party. We prevented a meeting taking place in Kimberley where BNP leader Nick Griffin had come to speak. This was only the beginning.
This conference is the beginning of our campaign to prevent them organising their 'Red White and Blue' festival in the East Midlands. It is also intended to build stronger links and more support in the community and trade unions for ongoing work to undermine the BNP wherever they show their faces.
We know that the BNP view the East Midlands as a potentially fertile recruitment ground, and have been encouraged by the election of a handful of seats on local councils in the region.
In August 2007, the BNP held their 'Red, White and Blue Festival' near the Derbyshire village of Denby less than 10 miles from both Nottingham and Derby. The BNP plan to hold their festival on the same site in 2008. We believe that if the BNP are allowed to hold this event, it will allow them to make a further step in claiming legitimisation of their party—a party populated and led by fascists and held together by race hate.
It will also build the confidence of racists and fascists who will try to intimidate and undermine local communities.
Since the 2007 BNP 'Festival', anti-racists, trade unionists and other campaigners in the area have re-organised. Our mobilisation on the streets in Kimberley, Notts in October stopped the BNP meeting with BNP leader Nick Griffin. In November anti-fascist activists blocked Griffin and Holocaust-denier David Irving speaking at Oxford University.
They must be stopped from using the East Midlands as a base to organise their spreading of race hate and intimidation.

Actually, some of us more bloodlusting more millitant bnp-haters, genuinally don't really want to see such an event cancelled.
Yes, it's an excuse for drunken racists to invade a normally peacefully village, going on the rampage, spreading neo-nazi bile while projectile vomiting over rare shrubs, however, if the event happens to be cancelled by the local authority, it's not just the racists who will be a tad sad at such a decision.
Thanks to Pubwatch and the exhorbitant cost of watching the Ricky Hatton fight for landlords on pay-per-view, few pubs in the vacinity of small East Midlands villages provide regular supplies of fisticuffs.
It's not nice to hear racist songs and chants from a bunch of extreme rightwing pissheads, but it's a price well worth paying, to see the fight of the year erupting, as the vengeful rebels come face to Herr Griffin and PaedoBoy.
Forget Ultimate Fighting and "cage rage". When the Yorkshire and Glasgow members so much as get a distant glimpse of the unrepentant, totally arrogant bnp leadership, expect World War III to erupt, only this time, nazis will be fighting nazis.

Looking at the bnp website this morning i see Griffin is preeching to the party faithfull, all 3 of them.
Has he done enough? on the surface he has now denounced all of the rebels as neo-nazis, says he has proof that their plotting goes way back, that they tried to stop Jewish Councillor and also Pussy Rustem.
The way i read it there will be NO reconcilliation. Would be interested in what everyone has to say.
The only other point of interest is that he says they will be launching their campaign for London on the same weekend you have booked the conference for.

It just struck me - BNP members come across as a bunch of shady, desperate businessmen who wouldn't think twice about ripping you off.
They seem like the dodgy guys who knock at the doors of vulnerable old aged pensioners asking them if they want their driveway tarmaced. Or, the types who try to sell you Northern Rock mortgages even when we all know they are toxic.

However, even if our pitch to the TV stations succeeds, animal rights protesters may stop its broadcast on the basis that the BNP’s Red, White and Blue Festival constitutes abuse towards animals.
One thing I wonder about: Kenny Smith is quite loud about Collett and Hannam's alleged sexual peculiarities, but the rebel camp are strangely silent about Smith's own behvaiour -- I mean, he did after all, cheat on his wife (adultery) and knock up Nicholla Ritchie, all the while still married to his wife.

Has anyone noticed that the goon arrow has had the temerity to criticise the great leader? Griffin's new year message, in which he is trying to paint himself (and Collett!) as whiter than white, described people who support the '14 words' as some kind of cultists. The goon didn't like that.

The prize for most racist poster on far right blogs goes to a sick-in-the-head female Griffinite called Yorkielass, who hangs out with "The Goon" (Goon Arrow). Each and every post of this embittered old biddy rambles on ten dozen paragraphs using stupid Islamophobic terms like "Eurabia", always going off on a peculiar tangent.
Does so-called "Yorkielass" actually exist, now Griffin's not flavour of the month in Yorkshire, or is she a figment of the Goon's senile imagination?
Regarding "Common Purpose". It could be that the BNP fascists are feeling peeved at seeing a far more subtle and effective fascist organistation at work.
"Common purpose" is definitely NOT a harmless charity. There are Zionist and Masonic influences in this organisation which seem to be setting Muslims up as "The Other" in some sort of Kristalnacht type plot to seize power in a 'national emergency'
The postings of 'Yorkielass' (or if it's a Green Arrow under a psydonym) shows the sad power of the fantasised, imagined non-white Other (be it the Asian or Muslim).
Without the imagined Other, the BNP/racist/white supremacist Self cannot live or conceive itself independently of its created Other (i.e. the Asian and the Muslim).
I have to say for once the BNP have got something right, and that the new banner on the BNP website is actually rather appropriate.
The image of this small, blurry, peripheral figure, all on his own, at one extreme, looking lonely, and confused, next to a sea of nothing, an empty void, really does sum up my view of Nick Griffin.
In the real world I do work in Event Management and planning from time to time and I would really have liked to go to this meeting but I'm working on Saturday and I cannot get out of it.
The real people to get involved in this are the local Fire Brigade union. The planning applications for these sort of events can be a torturous process and the red tape can be a nightmare and the Fire Brigade can be very useful in getting events closed down.
There is a difference in the licensing requirements for public and private land.
They also need to have a market license if they have a car boot sale, all marquees have to have a health and safety certificate, people selling food need to have their Health and Hygiene certificates, all electrical equipment should be P.A.T. tested, if music is being played they should get a PRS license, they need Public Liability insurance, detailed Risk Assessments, evacuation plans, a Licensee if alcohol is being sold and they need SIA registered security.
There's a lot of hoops to jump through to put an event on but different parts of the country vary in how they enforce the rules.
I'll get in touch with Nottingham licensing dept tomorrow and ask for an application form
