This evening Ripley council refused the application for the Red White and Blue festival
The BNP got a sharp kick in the teeth once again this evening. The Amber council sitting in Ripley Town hall, refused the application for a licence to hold the RedWhite and Blue festival in Denby Village in August.
Local residents and objectors from round the country turned out to the Council chambers to oppose the fascists. At least 40 police and fit team made a cordon to keep left and right apart.
Durring the application the police stated that due to the obvious confrontation that would ensue between left and right during the gathering they were opposing the event, unless a Glastonbury style 10 feet high wall is errected with floodlights and so many badge security per 100 attendees.
The BNP spat their dummies well and truly out on the floor and stormed out. Alan Warner the Denby Parish councilor former tory and BNP convert who has hosted the event in the past scurried away with his body guard Clarke in tow.
Clarke in his ill fitting suit, whilst sweating profusely claimed loudly to the council that the police were clearly in cahoots with the left.
Members of the BNP whilst hiding behind their children at the front of the town hall looked on in despair at yet another victory for local residents and the Nottingham Stop the BNP and anti fascists across the country.

"A BNP festival will go ahead this summer despite an application to provide entertainment and sell alcohol being withdrawn at the last minute.
Organisers of the Red, White and Blue event walked out of a meeting of Amber Valley Borough Council's licensing panel last night after more than two hours of representations.
The application for a premises licence, which would allow music to be played and alcohol sold at the three-day event in Denby, was withdrawn after Derbyshire police objected.
Before the meeting, police had not objected but changed their position following new intelligence.
Craig Sutherland, the force's solicitor, told councillors at Ripley Town Hall: “We have received information that left-wing groups would be mobilising for the purpose of demonstration and some are going to seek violence and attack the BNP.”
Members of the BNP who attended last night's meeting were greeted by more than 30 members of Derby Unite against Fascism and Nottinghamshire Stop the BNP campaign, who protested with banners outside the town hall.
Security at the meeting was tight with 30 police officers on patrol, some with recording equipment filming the protesters.
The three-day event is due to take place in Codnor-Denby Lane, Denby from Friday, August 15, and is expected to attract 5,000 people. Last year, the first time the event was held, 800 people attended.
Mr Sutherland said that police started to receive information towards the end of last month that some left-wing groups wanted to “shut down” the festival.
“We have got two dramatically opposing groups and it could lead to violence and disruption,” he said.
Mr Sutherland also said that, if the licence was granted, police wanted to see certain conditions adhered to by the organisers.
These included a seven-metre-high fence around the site, increasing the number of security staff to one per one hundred people and that the festival should only be one-and-a-half days long.
After listening to the police's position and opposition from local residents, representatives of Codnor and Denby Parish councils and Heanor and Loscoe Town Council, John Walker, national treasurer for the BNP, said the application would be withdrawn.
“We have come to the conclusion that this whole process has now become a farce,” he said. “We have been forced to jump through even more hoops.
“We are going to withdraw this application and this event will go ahead without a licence.”
Mr Walker and five other members of the BNP then walked out of the meeting.
A spokesman for the borough council said an official statement on the withdrawal was expected today."

Just spoken to a local resident who's absolutely delighted with the news and thanked local anti-fascists for their good work.
I was outside the town hall last night and although the demo wasn't huge, it sent the right message.

P.S. Seems Nina Brown has dumped Sadie Graham and 'Voice of Change'. When asked what party she was in she replied "BNP and Proud". She ended up being treated to a round of "Nina, Nina is a Nazi and she isn't welcome here" ... even some of the local kids who'd turned up to see what was going on joined in. Nina didn't look happy. Boo hoo.
They could always turn the "Family Festival" into a money-grabbing pop concert, a bit like Glastonbury.

Sorry but this is not the way to stop the BNP in my view. What use is it stopping the RWB when people are still voting BNP at the polls? How will this prevent BNP election vitories?
Id certainly prefer 2000-3000 of the BNPs most dedicated members to be in a field miles from anywhere rather than campaigning on the streets of their target wards. What will be achieved stopping their rwb apart from a lowering of the BNPs morale? And even that is debateable as a perceived attack tneds to unify most diverse groups.
Then there is the press statement saying police had intelligence that left wing groups were going to create violence, is that the publicity we need?
I know this wont be popular but why do we seem more keen on preventing a bunch of nazis standing in a field rather than standing in elections? I know where I think the real battlefield is.
The chances are the BNP will still stage their RWB anyway so all we will have done is create publicity for them.
If anyone can tell me how this helps us to stop people backing the BNP I'd be delighted but I just don't see how it will.
