BBC One will be showing a brand new adaptation of The Diary Of Anne Frank in the first week of January starring Tamsin Greig, Lesley Sharp, Ian Glen and Ellie Kendrick.
The drama will be in five parts stripped across a week at 7pm starting on January 5th.
It has been adapted by Deborah Moggach and has been made by Darlow Smithson. The BBC has liaised directlly with the Anne Frank Trust, the Anne Frank Fonds and the Anne Frank Museum to ensure absolute authenticity. All have highly praised the adaptation.
A BBC spokesperson noted: "The rights to the actual Diary only come up rarely — this is the first time in over 20 years. It is also the first adaptation to include the version of the diary that was updated a few years ago".

Wait for it - Mr Arthur Kemp will now launch into a diatribe against this work and tell you all about the fact that the diary was written with a bic pen, which was not available at the time of the war. This is one of his pet issues so prepare for the onslaught!
Anne Frank's diaries is one of the biggest weapons against the racist propaganda of the BNP.
Excellent!
i blame the parents they should have taught her to play hide and seek a bit better ha ha

Yet another example of why we stand up against fascists and a very fine example of why we refer to them as scum.
