BNP: The Fraud Exposed

Nick Griffin's British National Party, already under investigation for breaches of electoral law, is facing fresh allegations of corruption. Panorama uncovers new evidence of financial documents being falsified and fabricated in order to deceive the Electoral Commission. The programme also has evidence of the BNP's failure to declare major donations to the party.

As Darragh MacIntyre reports, the BNP, which is better known for its controversial views on race, is in debt and according to its own published accounts appears to be technically insolvent.

I predict that this will be the damp squid of the year.

Much will be made of fiddling the EU. As if anyone cares about that, on all political sides.

Much of the exposure will be on technical breaches of legislation, much of it over the head of the average Joe / Jane Public.

The REAL questions, such as how was he able and why was he able to get away with it for so long will not be asked.

Wonder why???

Squids usually are damp though, not that that will help the BNP get out of this one.

"Much of the exposure will be on technical breaches of legislation, much of it over the head of the average Joe / Jane Public."

That's not the point. The point is the law will hit the BNP hard with the possibility of fines, prison, bans from public office, etc.

"The law will hit the BNP hard"..

Will it? They haven't so far.

Which is the whole thrust of my argument.

Hmm, when it comes to organisations such as these, the law is quite relaxed.
Who in their right mind would believe that the BNP's accounts were correct anyway?
I can see Griffin walking away pretty much unscathed from this.
Nevertheless, I expect LU will watch the programme and report on it and so to aid the research a £100 Panarama booze 'n' nosh donation is paypaling its way over:)

Having read some of the quwestions put forward to Griffin, it seams that most are the same questions that have been asked for over a year now.The BBC dont seem to offer evidence, so more than likely nothing will happen at all

They *are* currently under investigation by the Met and the Electoral Commission. I think OLAF (the body responsible for the financial standards of EU employees)are also looking into the BNP, so something is definitely brewing...

Let me see, popcorn, cold beer, remote control, comfy cushions - I'm ready now for a bit of BBC Gri££in-scum hammering (no I’m not talking about what Reynolds does to him). Those vile fat men will be straight down the kebab shop tonight to drown their sorrows in chilli source afterwards.

Griffin making a meal of it already, excuse the pun!

Truth is, he's a crook and always has been.

Fat, lying, cheating, thieving, money-grabbing, unprincipled bastard.

At least Tyndall (looney Nazi that he was) never stole a penny

The reason that the term is 'damp squib' is that a squib is a kind of exposive and a damp one won't fire.

Google is your friend, numbnuts.

"At least Tyndall (looney Nazi that he was) never stole a penny"

Got taken to court by BNPs head of admin for non payment of wages and expenses.

Had Welling Club, personal fund raising for Tyndall just like Trafalgar club is for Griffin.

Got left a legacy which he admionistered for his own use and not for the benefit of the bnp.
