Reader article: Nick Griffin's dilemma

This article was submitted by one of our readers, MOT. We welcome any contributions (as long as those contributions conform to the law and are in reasonably good taste) from our supporters. Please send your articles to us at lancaster.uaf@zen.co.uk

After what has been a pretty dreadful year for the BNP and the other lunatic fringe groups on the far-right comes along a story that is going to have long and deep repercussions on the BNP and in particular Nick Griffin. He really is in a bind and there is no real way out for him. This doesn't seem like a situation where a compromise is either wanted or achievable by both sides and no matter what happens Griffin is badly damaged.

If he holds on to Collett and Hannam he loses a big chunk of his party machinery at a time where members are renewing their membership for next year and with that a large chunk of money when they are 5 months overdue with publishing their accounts. If he gives in and gets rid of Collett and Hannam he shows himself to be weak and his ego won't take that and then he has the problem of whatever this supposed big thing is that Collett has over him. Whether it's real or not I don't know but I am looking forward to finding out.

A post on Stormfront yesterday evening from Purging the Droid (widely regarded to be Griffin) said:

'I see our friends are now using the services on none other than Jon Cruddas in their crusade against our party. Despite our continued efforts to find a solution and patch things up, we get this. It is going to be very difficult now to ever work again with people who make common cause with the enemies of nationalism, there is just no excuse for this at all.'

Now I've only a passing knowledge about Sadie Graham and the others involved in setting up the Enough is Enough blog but even I know one of the last people they would have approached for help is Jon Cruddas and if Griffin is trying to use that as a validation that he has made the right choice with his actions then he must be really rattled and getting desperate.

The reason Jon Cruddas has been brought in to the fray is because Stop the BNP reported that he had been in touch with the police about the alleged criminal actions of last weekend and has raised the issue in the House of Commons. Somehow I don't think he has done this for their benefit.

Now I would have thought a story that involves gaining access by deception and taking person belongings, deliberate breaking of the Data Protection Act, former South African spooks, £17,000 apparently going missing or unaccounted for, alleged illegal bugging (I think it was a setting on Skype myself), the cover-up of alleged paedophiliac behavior by senior BNP management, 60 members of the party structure resigning their posts including several of their councillors and questions asked in Parliament would gain some media interest but up to now there has been very little and nothing with the full details that we seen in the last few days.

Why is that? is it because the BNP were all over the media a couple of weeks ago being forever linked with a holocaust denier in the full glare of the media? Is it because the story doesn't contain any reference to Simone Clarke? Or is it because Griffin is a 'state asset'? Hey he throws the allegation around enough and he has done more than his fair share of damage to far-right groups over the years.

However this thing plays out over the next few days, weeks and months a couple of things are for sure. There is a massive split in the BNP that is going to take a long time to heal and if this is how people who support him are treated (and they still want Griffin to be leader if and when Collett and Hannam go) then what have we got too look forward to if they ever get in to power?

The BNP are in decline and we have to carry on fighting them at every given chance.

Excellent. By the way, it's Jon Cruddas, not John.

I keep telling you that the BNP is a state safety valve but you ain't listening. I strongly believe Griffin was recruited at Uni, as was Darby. If you remove your hatred of the BNP and observe its actions as a calm outsider...

EVERYTHING INDICATES THEY ARE STATE CONTROLLED RIGHT DOWN TO THE PRESS SILENCE ON MATTERS THAT WOULD TURN THE PUBLIC OFF.

The press silence isn't because they consider the BNP an irrelevance, it's because they don't want to spoil the barrel that holds the percieved bad apples. Smash the barrel and where do the bad apples go? They may go where the state doesn't want them or can't control them and because Griffin and Darby know this, because they are part of it, they can do what the hell they like without any outside problems.

The police don't care, the press doesn't care, the EC doesn't care etc

Study the BNP and you will quickly see that anyone decent and hardworking within it, which usually equals success, is gotten rid of quick sharpish. Anyone popular who may challenge Griffins control is gotten rid of quick sharpish. Griffin plots well in advance before acting, he's a clever bastard with the states ear. Whenever there is a success he or Darby moves quickly to destroy it.

Here are some minor examples regarding Darby:

Kevin Hughes refused to allow a certain person to stand in the local elections because of his collection of Nazi memorabillia. Kevin, rightly feared what the public and press opinion would be, what did Darby do once Hughes was out of the way? He allowed this man to stand as a candidate.

John Salvage used to be the Black Country Organiser but was replaced by Simon Smith because Salvage was caught with his hand in the till. Was Salvage expelled? No, Darby made him an organiser in Cannock.

Throughout the BNP you see people promoted to positions even though they don't have the brain gawd gave little green apples and this ensures the BNP goes nowhere, otherwise Griffin selects the unemployed or sycophants that can be given back-handers. When they step out of line, Walker, his attack money dog moves in and reminds them of those back-handers and that they wouldn't want the DWP finding out. It was John Walker who went to the DWP on Cllr Richard Mulhall after Mulhall joined the 'Reform Group'

Every step of the way these people are there to ensure corruption and failure. Step back and look IT IS A STATE SAFETY VALVE. Sadie Grahams demise was planned months in advance.

We're saving up for a plot of land in Croatia.

The truth is that we haven't spent a single penny of it yet and we don't intend to until we need to directly oppose fascists and we need some dosh to do so. Some was going to be spent on subsidising a minibus to Blackpool but in the event that was unnecessary as we got a better deal than we expected.

Whoever you are, you'll never catch us out in financial misdeeds because we are not the BNP. Every penny we have donated to us goes directly to the cause, nowhere else.

Looks like Darby is in a bit of a panic...HEEEAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHAA!!!

Thanks for mentioning the breaking news of structural changes to the BNP leadership.

To summarise:

Post of Group Development Officer (Graham) abolished (because she's been purged)

Post of national mouthpiece (Collett) abolished - because everybody hates him

Post of Regional Accounting Unit Treasurer (Hannam ?) abolished - because we want someone who can write AND add up (bit of a challenge in the BNP !)

Oh, and the Third Army is to reform and strike east against the Soviets immediately. Oh sorry, that was a different delusional nazi in his final days, losing grasp of reality.

Dear Anon..

Would that be the Kevin Hughes who got an unusually long sentance for a relatively minor offence?

Then there's the Andy Sykes episode, where he was a "controlled" organiser who deliberately picked useless candidates for the BNP.

Then there's Jonathan Bowden who was hounded out of thee BNP

You may be wrong....but I wonder too where is the media coverage???

Just like the NF was on the verge of a real breakthrough in the 70's Griffin was there to stir and bring it down.

And this

"the tale of Andy Carmichael who described in the Sunday Times (27 July 1997) his 'five years as a fully salaried MI5 agent' inside the National Front (NF). According to Carmichael, the National Front, in the guise of National Democrats, had planned to disrupt the Referendum Party's General Election campaign in the Midlands because the Front believed that the Referendum Party would take votes from them (standing as National Democrats). But the NF plot, we are told, 'unsettled senior MI5 officers'. Interference with a British general election 'would prove an enormous scandal' and Carmichael was told to 'pull the plug' on the NF plot."

The BNP stand a chance of a breakthrough in London, Griffin, is there to stir and bring it down"

"The NDs were severely damaged immediately before the 1997 election when it was revealed by The Sunday Times that leading members Andy and Paula Carmichael were working for MI5.[citation needed] This also damaged the Referendum Party, where Andy Carmichael was regional organiser. Where the West Midlands had been a stronghold, it now began to fall apart, and in 1998, the local branch, which included current leading activist Simon Darby, decided to switch over to the BNP, leaving only a small number of party loyalists behind."

The Edwards's made a breakthrough in the Midlands, Darby was there to bring it down.

Matt Single – Today’s thoughts - Tomorrow’s actions?

Firstly, I would like to thank all those that have text, called and sent in words of support for Sadie and I. I never realised just how much support we have, the phone has literally not stopped ringing for five days. Thank you all so much.

Out of this whole situation, the one issue that has struck me the most is the level of blind dismissal displayed by Mr Griffin, as if this were just a minor ‘spat’ in the Party, and not one of the most decisive times in its history. Did Nick honestly believe that he could get away with deeds that would have made Stalin look like a moderate without reaction? Did he believe that he could lie and spin his way out of a shameful situation that he himself has created through his seemingly total inability to listen to anyone else except himself?

It makes me cringe however that Mr Griffin, as it would seem, has today finally realised that he has set into motion juggernaut wheels that he cannot stop. It’s interesting that he is now attempting to draw the Party membership around the ‘wonderful and talented’ Mark Collett, in a ham-fisted attempted to stamp his authority on the members and activists of the Party, for which there are many, that have severe reservations about Mr Griffin’s man-management skills and the direction of his loyalty. A twenty two minute video of Collett at this years Blackpool Conference posted on BNPtv this week, reflect the poorest taste at the worst possible time, this goes quite some way into confirming this.

The fact that Collett is the very reason why this dreadful situation has arisen in the first place tells us all we need to know about Mr Griffin and the contempt he must have for the wishes of the people of this Party that voted him in. I guess trying to hammer a round peg into a hole that is most decidedly round, is always going to be a messy and unpleasant business. Then again, is he the ‘man with a plan’? Is he privy to some clandestine information that will benefit us all in good time, but us as mere mortals could not possibly begin to understand it, so instead we should all swear blind allegiance to him as he toils for us?

Mark Collett, at the behest of Mr Griffin, is popping up all over the place. Mr Griffin is not only using him as the face of confrontation/résistance to those wishing to save this Party, he has renamed his position, but predictably left him with the very same power with the same arrangement to continue causing trouble as he did before. If this is however, an attempt of reconciliation, it has to amount to the feeblest effort in the history of nationalism! People are not foolish Nick, and are already seeing straight through this.

There will be, I believe, one out of two possible positive conclusions to this change in structure. Very shortly Mr Griffin’s position will be untenable as the pressure on him continues to grow and he will have to remove Collett, or that the damage that Collett will undoubtedly continue to cause will merely quicken the process towards its ultimate and certain conclusion: his demise. We can then begin the procedure of repairing bridges and preparing for the future together as one Party with one aim, political power; that is why we are here after all.

My darkest fear surrounding this situation is that the seemly megalomaniacal personality of Mr Griffin will program him to ‘destroy what he can no longer control’. This has often happened throughout history when a leader loses his grasp on actuality and events overtake him. I may be being harsh, but this is the situation as I am seeing it today, I garnered this much during his closing speech at the Blackpool Conference this year. It went along the lines that he didn’t care if the Party was destroyed by certain hostile forces (in other words Party members that disagree with him) because he had it in him to carry on regardless. Regardless indeed, even if it meant the Party would be destroyed Nick? As long as your orders and control still remained firmly in place? Tell me Nick, in a few years time would it bother you if the Blackpool Conference was held in a phone box with just enough room for you and Collett? You’d still be leader after all; so you’d have won wouldn’t you?

I do not believe that this is what you seek, because this would be simple and utter mindlessness, and I know you are a very intelligent man; I just want to see it now. Prove it to me please Nick. Prove it to all of us.

Another fact that has not been mentioned very much at all over the past week is that Mr Griffin was voted in by the people. I’ll say that again, VOTED IN. This means those same people, the very people Mr Griffin had bugged, taken personal property from and is now lying about, still have rights in a Party that is supposed to uphold democracy and freedom of speech and expression to, wait for it; voice opinion against the Chairman's decisions in free and open debate. Nick, you are not a demigod, and you cannot walk on water.

Mr Griffin has silenced his internal critics in the past sometimes through one under-handed method or another; I have seen this first-hand. This is usually followed by a form of black-consolidation, whereby conjured ‘stolen fund’ allegations and so forth are then levelled and fired at the unfortunate victim that can no longer defend themselves because they have already been, as Nick in the past has himself put so succinctly, been ‘purged’. These are simply coffin nails that he has driven into the names of some bloody good people to keep them down and quiet. I wonder, does this help him sleep by keeping away the ‘vermin’, should they come to haunt him in the dead of night?

Regardless to how you honestly believe you are helping us in the long term Mr Griffin, there is no ‘for the greater good’ because no one person in this Party of ours should ever have the right to act in a way that, as I have said before, represents the very people we seek as a Party to replace.

I want openness, I want the right to hear different people’s differing opinions, and as a card carrying member of this Party you have a duty to me, and all of us to uphold this.

Some people would be critical of me for writing in such an open and unrestrained way. Fair enough I’d say to them, I fully understand that because some people prefer to hold their cards close to their chest. Just remember however, that I am not a politician, but I do know that now is the time for change, with change comes growing pains and sometimes the shedding of skin which will not always be pleasant. We must be brave to face the facts of the situation and strike firmly in order to save, and once again promote together the growth and the true meaning of our one vehicle, the British National Party. Truth and honesty are weapons we must use to achieve this however painful this may be in the short term. Now is not the time for silence, now is the time for all activists and members to stand up and voice their hopes and fears.

Mr Griffin, you are clutching at straws by hoping that by touring the country now with Collett, that it will somehow prove what a ‘nice and genuine’ guy he truly is; this will fail because he simply is not. This will be followed by the Christmas break, and you hope this will afford you the time to ride out the storm that you yourself have brought down upon us. Well this is not going to be the case Nick, because sometimes after a terrible storm; there is nothing left. This situation is not going to go away and absolutely must be dealt with now.

Nick, the British National Party is not your play-thing; it is not yours to do what you want with. Remove Mark Collett now and fully recognize our position or you will never be trusted again by anyone. Even those that you believe are standing firmly behind you at the present time, no longer look to you as the man that can lead unless you can prove to us all that you have the backbone to do what is right for all our sakes.

webeathebnp could possibly be Brighton Rock from stormfront, trying to change subject, as he posted up the message on that site.

It seems some members of the BNP are happy to try and use this blog when it suits them, now what was Griffin & co saying about such behaviour the other day?

I wonder if he'll be sacking Brighton Rock & himself now for a rather pathetic attempt at smoke and mirror activity?

Anonymous 7.44,
The only thing wrong with your cospiracy theory of Griffin and his nearest and dearest being state-controlled puppets of Tony/Gordon, is that Griffin was facing 7 years in clink in 2004 for defaming Islam as a 'wicked vicious faith' but was acquitted by the jury.

Do the government control jury selection to the extent they can ensure he would be found not guilty?

Nobody (except apparently the CPS) seriously expected him to be done and every anti-fascist I knew regarded the retrial as a complete waste of time and money. Even if he had been found guilty, there's no way he would have received seven years - that was a nonsense that Griffin spread around as though guilt automatically meant the seven. Nonsense, of course.

There's an update on the BNP site: Mark Collett has been demoted to the position of 'graphic design artist', and Dave Hannam's job as regional treasurer is being phased out. So is this Griffin's way of appeasing the party? LMAO

By the way I agree with earlier comments about the BNP being under state control. I was a member of the BNP (to my eternal shame) and I saw first-hand how the more moderate, intelligent members (yes there were some, believe it or not) were sidelined in favour of people who clearly would not present an acceptable face to the public, or be capable of holding a position of responsibility. I spoke to one new member who told me how Hitler and National Socialism had been the inspiration to get involved in politics. That person is now a local organiser.

'the reference to money, ketlan i think we have a troll, posing under another name.'

That was my first thought too, and the 'I hate the Nutzis as much as anyone' stuff was just an idiotic attempt at window dressing. Basically, you don't normally donate to an organisation that you do not trust.

Speaking of which, I should have thought BNP donations would be down somewhat at the present time, to say the least!

There's a new appeal out by the way, unusual in that it seems to suggest the money is going directly to Griffin - which is honest in a way I suppose.

Yes, otherwise Hamza would have been let off too. They were both guilty of similar offences.

Correct, the leaflets also give the impression that you are "GIVING A GIFT" to an organisation called "Building To Grow Project" clearly the money must be earmarked for a new barn door as Griffin has run out of space on his old one :)

I too have witnessed this. Ken Griffith the Black Country Organiser has flags and banners of marching SS all over his living room walls. Griffith was Darby's choice. Darby seems keen on promoting people who like nazi memorabillia and such.

Tories lead in by-election
By Tristan Kirk
Comment
EARLY exit polls in the Canons ward by-election indicate a win for the Conservative Party.

Husain Akhtar looks set to retain the seat for the party after the death of sitting councillor Janet Cowan, in October.

Labour candidate Richard Harrod appears to be in second place, with Anne Diamond (Lib Dem) and Marcello Borgese (Independent) vying for third place.

Early indications suggest British National Party candidate Howard Studley has come last.

Robert Purcell speaks out against Griffin

The Griffin Equation

Those familiar with my scribblings will no doubt be surprised that I have come out in favour of Sadie rather than Nick. I have been a long time supporter of Griffin and defended his record to the best of my ability in the past. Particularly during the recent leadership contest where (I like to think) I made a contribution by proving the link between Sharon Ebanks and Chris Jackson, which can hardly have helped the challenger. However Nick is a high maintenance chairman and his many talents have always had to be balanced against his obvious shortcomings. With recent events the solution of this complex equation has been massively shifted, and by Griffin himself.

On the plus side of the Griffin ledger is his excellent speaking ability and his “presentational skills” that is to say, in blunt terms, his capability as a spin doctor. Griffin has the rare ability to be able to present a familiar issue or point to the best advantage, frequently using entirely new approaches. He has also demonstrated the ability to draw tremendous personal loyalty. As a inspirational figure Griffin has had mixed results, his words have failed to put the majority of his listeners on the front line, but then the call is a big ask and the road arduous. That any have undertaken it is some tribute to his motivational skills. Nick is also quite handy on the page, with an avuncular and engaging style. Finally Griffin’s high public recognition factor has taken years of blood and sweat (and not just by him) to build and is intensely valuable to the Party.

The list of Nick’s drawback’s is equally long. Firstly his personal history of previous involvement with more hardline groups has given our enemies a rich vein of propaganda to use against the Party. Then there is his autocratic tendency, only slightly tempered by recent innovations. This tendency is best demonstrated by the list of unsuitable individuals holding positions of influence for which their only qualification is loyalty to Nick, a list headed by the monumentally useless Mark Collett. Nick seems to have no better judgement picking individuals for office, with literally dozens of former office holders now wandering in the wilderness hunting any opportunity to gain revenge. And then there is his work rate, one essay a month for ID and one or two entries in his column. There are the public speaking events, but at a generous estimate these can hardly inconvenience him more that twice a week. True he is hardly well paid but then again the post of Chairman is a vocation not a profession.

Barking

From the point of view of an activist Griffin’s strategy also causes concern. There is little doubt that Nick has little regard for the local level of politics as anything other than a fundraising opportunity. I regard this as a fatal error since it was local units like Barnsley and Barking which broke the BNP into the mainstream in the first place. While the significance of the victories in terms of power was nil, the “sexy” appeal of the BNP to the press made them into massive propaganda triumphs. It appears that Nick has actively tried to prevent further local breakthroughs for fear of the damage a rogue councillor could cause. A valid view but not one which, on balance, the Party can afford in my opinion, since without strong local units a Westminster seat is impossible. If then the strategy of gaining publicity through winning proportional representation elections via manipulation of the press fails there is no plan B. This is a controversial analysis of Griffin’s strategy but I offer this as evidence. There has been precious little attempt to spread the tactics employed by successful local units to the vast majority. Indeed there is circumstantial evidence to the contrary and even the possibility that successful units have been deliberately retarded.

Suicide

Still an assessment of Nick’s role on the basis of the above factors, the lack of a suitable replacement and the need to maintain unity before the weekend would have to have concluded that he was the best man for the job. However the outcome of this assessment was crucially altered by the unbelievable chain of events which unfolded live on the internet. The incredible sight of an illegally and dishonestly obtained transcript and actual recording of an officials private conversation on the BNP site destroyed Griffin’s credibility instantly and completely. With an effort of will Griffin’s tendency to employ the tactics of the very organisations the BNP exists to oppose could be ignored; before they were plastered across the web. The propaganda value of this to the opposition is such that, on this consideration alone, Griffin had committed political suicide.

That is without even beginning to factor in the moral implications, or the legal.

Then the motivation for this extraordinary act of insanity has to be considered. Griffin did this in order to protect Mark Collett, the most incompetent liability ever to have held a BNP membership card including David Copeland. Even more extraordinarily he did it to protect Collett from Sadie Grayham, considered one of the BNP’s finest activists. A woman who once walked into a Gypsy encampment to ask them to move on behalf of her constituents. And she did this without the protection of half a dozen men dressed as cheap night club bouncers.

Deep Throat

If that was not bad enough, but the Party went on to announce the existence of “intelligence section” comprising a collection of shady South Africans. Apparently not content with losing their own country they wish to do the same to ours. It is ironic that the first act of this “intelligence section” was probably the single dumbest thing a British political party has done in living memory. It is simply not acceptable that a Party committed to democracy has a unit which uses the same tactics and for the same ends of the most tyrannical regimes around the world and throughout modern history.

And then Nick’s stormtroopers mounted a series of dawn raids. Gaining entry by deception at least, perhaps burglary at worst. Unacceptable.

Sums

What Griffin has done is change the values in the equation which determines his value to the Party. He has destroyed his own reputation for integrity and cast doubt on his judgement. He had all but lived down his previous gaffs, now he has surpassed any thing which came before. As for his public perception, his association with the Party has been transformed from a positive to a negative. Simultaneously he has increased the negatives in the equation, his fanatical loyalty to his clique has now been proven to be greater than his concern for the well being of the Party. He has doubled the list of hostile exiles and filled their ranks with the most capable officers the Party possessed. Moreover he has brought the BNP into disrepute by his actions.

The Way Forward

Griffin could have avoided this disaster if instead of issuing a defiant statement he had demanded, and “reluctantly” accepted, the resignations of the Collett faction. Now he has gambled his own future, and that of the Party, on Collett, compromise is no longer an option.

The most important consideration of members is to act in a way to protect the Party upon which so much depends. The only way unity and the integrity of the Party can be restored is to overthrow Nick Griffin. The Griffin loyalists will have no option but to stay in the Party and the exiles can rejoin once Griffin is removed. This is the only way unity can be restored.

Once this is achieved a new leadership contest can be held, there is no shortage of good candidates Barnbrook, Darby perhaps Sadie herself, she has certainly demonstrated a political savvy in her conduct superior to Nicks.

The progress of the Party is dependent on the removal of Griffin. However there are considerable advantages that will arise from his departure. The Party will be able to claim to be reinvented and its new leader can present their victory as a “moderate” revolution. The opposition will have no “evidence” on the new leadership and their case will be significantly weakened. With the reduction in the stigma attached to the Party a new way of recruits can join, including more of the middle class people who have been frightened off by Griffin’s track record. Particularly the UKIP members casting around for a way off their sinking ship. A new leader can also reassess the overall strategy of the Party and hopefully decide to take the leash off the local units, restoring the forward momentum of the Party.

Of course it ill behoves nationalists to throw Griffin, a man who has worked for the cause for his entire life, in to the wilderness naked. Griffin should at least receive a pension from the Party and perhaps his skills could be of some use to the Party behind the scenes.

The Way Back

If Griffin survives this disaster the future for the Party looks bleak. Collett has become effectively untouchable and his antics have been given not only retrospective approval but future endorsement. The Party has lost many activists and office holders, with the causalities worst among its most effective and independent minded individuals. The Party will be left consisting only of slavish Griffinites making it sterile and incapable of evolution. The enemy will be armed with a devastating claims to be employed on the political battlefield. Potential recruits will face an additional barrier to membership. This episode has critically weakened the BNP across the board.

As it stands Griffin has brought shame on himself. If the BNP fail to remove him from office then the Party will share his shame. The first duty of every member and particularly every office holder is to protect the Party. Anyone who fails to defend it from the humiliation brought on it by Nick will have failed in this duty. We must all make a difficult choice, do we owe our loyalty to Nick Griffin or to the BNP?

Postscript: Of course this internecine war could be prevented if Griffin does the honourable thing and resign. At least that way he might retain some dignity.

If Purging The Droid is Griffin then watching him on stormfront is watching a pathetic, weak and beaten man, right now he's trying to bully the members, and even the most junior members are treating him with complete and utter contempt.

Politics aside that's one pathetic loser, if that is Nick Griffin, even if he followed my exact political ideology I wouldn't trust him to run me a bath, let alone the country!

Alas, the narkish truth about nick griffin has now gained mass circulation, however, in marked contrast to the assumptions of an already well-developed British Far Right, necessary by the "safety valve" theory, one must rememebr, before the Bradford, Oldham, and Burnley riots instigated by footsoldiers (and allied hooligan firms such as Millwall, Burnley FC and the Leeds Service Crew), the bnp hadn't won a single council seat since Derek Beakon.

Then, along comes 9/11 and the War On Terror.

Surely, it's simple to believe how leftwing activists could be kept kept occupied by organised racism, to reduce the numbers of activists protesting about the war in iraq.

State-sponsored fascism has notably been used in Italy, Eastern Europe, and various South American nations, as a diversionary tactic, to keep the radical left in check, whenever left of centre parties hold the balance of power following democratic elections.

There nothing more worrying for the establishment and the security forces, than an actively socialist government in the style of Hugo Chavez.

Just think of the extra energy that would have gone into protests against the war, health service cuts, pollution, and higher wages, if the left were not occupied day and night fighting fascism.

When Tony Blair won his second term in office with an increased majority, alarm bells would have been ringing in certain quarters at the possibility of Blair haiving the ability to do like Chavez, and make sweeping policy changes to help the poorest in society while penalising big business.

Before the trolls poo-poo this theory, and they will... does anybody remember the counterrevolutionary tactics used by the state during the Harold Wilson era.

Powerful business interests were plotting to overthrow Harold Wilson's government via an armed uprising.

Thankfully, the plans were scrapped before the coup could happen, however, that a rightwing establishment was willing to use murderous "south american counterrevolutionary tactics" to take power from the left by force, shows how keen some unelected figures of authority were to destroy the British left through anti-democractic means.

When Labour were next in power, the National Front became active, providing another diversion for leftwing radicals, and ensuring the Callaghan government remained unthreatening towards big business.

Armed coups are potentially more harmful (if exposed) to the establishment than "unprovable" collusion with fascists.

Was a secret decision taken by the secret services in 2001, after September the 11th, to "protect the nation from socialist redistribution" by funding Nick Griffin and the BNP? This would indeed explain turned a blind eye to bad accounting practices.

The blatant Islamophobia stirred up by the bnp would surely keep the British Muslim community in check from politicalisation, through fear and intimidation generated through such a vehicle of state collusion.

The National Front following the same pattern, it's a remakable co-incidence that (temporary) neo-Nazi bogeymen stir up racism whenever the Labour Party take power, only to be conveniantly destroyed before the Tories return to power.

David Cameron, is, after all, expected to win the next election, providing endless comfort and security to the business community.

Anybody who lived through the miners' strike, understand the moral redundancy of British secret services, with their agent-provocateurs and underhand political meddling. Whether it's the NF or the BNP, stirring up organised racism to "occupy" radical leftwing activists, as a safer alternative to organising armed (anti-Harold Wilson-style) military coups, is an worryingly imaginery scanario to students of social history.

The "safety valve" theory cannot explain why organised fascism rarely flourishes during Conservative governments, a fact which cannot simply be put down to chance.

If there is a grain of truth in MI5's involvement with nick griffin, it is a horrific thought that an army of underhand spooks were willing to give temporary free reign to organised fascism, allowing it to grow, before Nick Griffin is later ordered to press the self-destruct button, just to keep New Labour in check.

Were MI5 willing to let black/asian/asylum seekers be asaulted and murdered through the climate of fear and hatred generated by the bnp, for cynical political reasons.

To the many people whose energies were occupied 24/7 fighting a real and dangerous bogeyman, it's sadly an imaginable scanario.

Most conspiracy theories available on the web seem to have a sadly rightwing focus, but logically-thinking people may intelligently ask questions on how New Labour was able to distance itself from grass roots activists during the most unpopular British war of all time.

Anything is possible. However far-fetched this theory is, anti-fascists should open their minds to all such possibilities.

Another Griffite bad boy lands in trouble for his loutish behaviour........

How come Nasty Narky Nick Griffin is quick to punish anyone who challenges his behaviour, but slow to censure the many louts who have become an integral part of the bnp?

Anonymous said...

MI5 nark or otherwise, most bnp members could never work with nick griffin again.

Sadly, Nick Griffin is the only man who will ever lead the bnp. When he resigns, his freakshow Addams Family daughter has been "groomed" (no pun intended) to take over.

The bnp is merely an extension of his huge ego.

Mark Collett will lurk craftily in the background, even if he is officially removed from promotional office duties, like racial bomber LeComber, who secretly lurked like a "butthole surfer" around Griffin's smelly arse long after he was supposed to have got the sack.

Nothing is as it seems in the bnp.

They are well and truly screwed. I'm never returning to them regardless of Nick Griffin's lies and spin.

Political football's an excellent analogy, as Griffo's scored an own goal.

Griffin cannot remain leader of the bnp.

I don't care if MI5 insist. Fuck them too!

It's kinda ironic that Nick Griffin called any dissidents "secret service agents" when he was exactly that, a spy, a nark, a plant put in place to run a state-sponsored shadowy far right organisation timed to self destruct "Mission Impossible stylie" in the nick of time before the tories to take power.

FUCK NICK GRIFFIN!

FUCK MI5!

The time has come for Nick Griffin, Mark Collett, and Simon Darby to be permanently expelled from the bnp.

Seems like the bnp are the secret services' as well as nick griffin's plaything.

Griffin is a mere stooge, albeit one with a monsterous ego.

Surely there is no way the rebels will make piece with a lying, thieving scumbag like griffin.

For those who have remained loyal to griffin, one also must seriously ask questions about their own relationship witb state collusion.

It is possible, not just one, two or three bnp bigwigs have been nobbled, but twenty or more, just in-case griffin has a freak accident, and wasn't able to lead the bnp.

These are the traitors in the mist, not the brave people who said "fuck you" to griffin.

Anonymous said...

I'd rather feed my bollocks to my patriotic pitbull terrier than make peace with griffin and his dodgy cronies.

Only those rebels lacking balls will kiss and make up with griffin.

Time is no healer.

Nick Griffin and the bnp can go fuck themselves up the arse, the greedy, deceitful twats!

How exactly did Griffin get the money for his holiday home in Croatia?

(1) Members subs?

(2) Dodgy business deals?

(3) Secret Service payroll?

(4) A sick combination of all the above three?

Anonymous said...

I do agree, a state-sponsored far right would keep leftwingers and socialists pre-occupied, as anti-racism is the greatest concern.

In the murky underworld of secret services, there is no such thing as "playing with a straight bat".

Look how the CIA are accused by many of collusion with the Columbian Death Squads.

Anonymous said...

Griffin's hoping bnp members have short memories as well as sub-standard IQs, lol.

How many rebels will make peace with such a liar and a cheat.

The twat's well and truly finished, as is the bnp. It's merely Nick Griffin's plaything, and serves no other MI5 purpose, especially now the War on Terror's finished, with the troops leaving Iraq pretty soon.

Fuck off Griffin you cheating cunt!

NO RECONCILLIATION

Nick Griffin's bnp is a scam. They never intended to win parliamentary seats. It was a mere egotrip for the bastard to become famous and get his face in the papers.

Don't be scammed just like I had been, until I smelt the coffee.

Tell "Thieving Twat Griffin" and his chums to go fuck themselves!

Anonymous said...

Perhaps it was Nick Griffin's Tory Party dad with his society connections and far right sympathies who introduced griffin to the secret service network, as a way of helping him through university.

Nick Griffins a thieving wanker and so is Simon Darby.

How could we have given these cretins our trust?

Now they've repaid our trust by sacking the lot of us.

Fuckin unfair!

There's been calls for us rebels to stay in the bnp.

Why the hell should we?

Does anybody know any information about Nick Griffin's father?

Edgar Griffin is the accountant for Robert Fiores british based charity. He's an ex Tory who allowed his son, Nick Griffin, to blow his cover to gain publicity for the BNP.

Edgar Griffin claimed to have been in the RAF during the war but no records exist of it but, we do know what else is situated near the airbase. The training headquarters for the secret services/MI5. This is where he met his wife.

Nick Griffin was bankrupted in 1994 just before he took control of the BNP. Someone discharged his £60,000 debt to the bank who paid for it? The patriot magazine which was published 2yrs before taking the BNP off Tyndall was a thick glossy affair that Griffin did'nt have the money for, who paid for it?

Edgar Griffin and others refer to Nick Griffins grandfather as EDWIN, his real name was Edward John Griffin, this causes confusion because the natural corruption of this name is, Eddie, Ed.

Edgar Griffin was born in Brighton but he has never declared this.
His mother was Lucy Strawson, Strawson is a British corruption from the Jewish German name Stausson.

There is much more.

So Nick Griffin's dad was involved with the secret services, at some time, you're saying.

So, maybe it's a family thing.

It's all rather mysterious and secretive.

Doesn't surprise me in the least now Griffin's ben outed as a state nark.

Griffin wrote the 'Mindbenders' not once but, twice. He binned the first copy because he didn't think it would get public attention, it wasn't extreme enough, as you know the 2nd edition got him put in court with plenty of recognition.

Thanks for the comments.
The bit about Griffin being a state asset was supposed to a bit of a light hearted throwaway comment but after reading your comments there is a case for saying that it is a possibility.

If anybody has any further info please pass it on.
